A Grateful Heart

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Oh my, do you ever have those mornings where you really do not want to get up, but would rather snuggle back down under the covers just a while longer, that was me this morning. After having a great sleep, I still wanted to linger there, but knew I couldn't because I have been helping out a young fellow getting to work in the mornings and I knew that was more important than me getting a few more winks. This is the season where a person has to go out and start the car a little earlier because of the frost on the windshield, but oh what a feeling of smelling the cool, fresh crisp air first thing in the morning as the sun is gleaming in the sky, it really is a beautiful sight.

As I was on my drive back home, I had my music playing and was worshipping, as I praised God for the beautiful morning, I began thanking Him for my life, my precious family, my home, friends that he has put in my life, the vehicle that I am able to drive. To some people I may not have much, and maybe I don't as far as material things, but I find that is not important at all, because I have joy, peace and a grateful heart and that is worth more to me than all the things that money can buy. Being a healthy person is worth so much these days, I believe that when we have a grateful heart, we also have a happy heart and a healthy heart, and that will take you a lot farther along as life goes by.

It's harvest time, and all the farmers are busy, busy getting their crops out of the fields, I love to pray for them and ask God to bless each of their crops, because without them where would we be...we need them and they can use all the prayers to help them through their busy lives. Just the the road from where I live, there is a little vegetable stand where there is fresh vegetables to buy, what a blessing that is. I have a friend who posts pictures of the beautiful sun that comes up in the morning and what a beautiful, glorious view that is to see first thing in the morning. I don't know about you, but there are many things to be grateful for, and once you think about it and start naming a few, more and more comes to the mind when you take the time to think about it. We may not have a big house but we have one. We may not have brand name clothes but we have some to put on. Our cupboards may not be full but at least there is something on the shelves. Some of us may live in tight quarters but at least we have someone to share it with. A grateful heart can see many blessings, a grateful heart tends to have a lot of love to share and that is what it's all about.

Girlfriends, let's start each day with a grateful heart, naming all the things that we are grateful for and just see how much of a change that we feel inside and how much brighter our day becomes. It's not hard to see all of the strife and anger that is in the world because of what is going on right now, but if we put our focus on all of the positive things or all of the blessings that have in our lives, we will see things in a whole different light. Jesus tells us in His word to focus on the things above and not the earthly things, found in Colossians 3:2. When we focus on the things above, heaven, we know that when we have asked Jesus into our hearts, that we will be there with Him one day and that is something to be so ever grateful for.

We have every reason to be grateful for God's grace, His mercy, His love and His forgiveness, that no matter what we have done in our lives, all we have to do is to ask Him for forgiveness, He will forgive. We have been given the breath in our lungs, eyes to see the beautiful scenery, what a blessing we have in knowing a God that loves us and has given us a chance to turn our lives around in order to have an eternal home to go to when this one is done. Praise God, we thank you Lord for so many things.

Father God, we lift your name on high and we sing praises unto your name, for you are a worthy God. Lord I thank you for all that you have given us and all that you have done for us. The biggest thing is that you gave your only son to die for us so that we can have eternal life in heaven with you and that is something to be so grateful and thankful for. Lord I lift up that dear one today that has never given their heart to you, that you would visit them with your presence right where they are at right now and let them feel the warmth of your love all around them. Lord let them know that no matter what their life is like or whatever their past is, you will always forgive and wipe all of the past away when they call out to you and accept you as their Savior. I pray that they would know that you see them as a blessing and that you love them with an everlasting love for all eternity, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
