Are You Lost

For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost. Matthew 18:11 Amplified Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

This was our first time ever of making a trip to Toronto, my husband driving and our two small children in the back seat all snuggled in their car seats for the twelve to fourteen hour trip. This was in the day when there hadn't been cell phones, GPS', google maps, no just the old fashion large paper maps that spread from one side of the front seat to the other.

Being the "Co-Pilot," it was my job to keep an eye on the road map, reading each place that was highlighted on the map along the route that we needed to take, in order to reach our destination. Let me tell you it was not so bad as we were driving on the main highway, but as soon as we had to make a turn to make an exit, only to find a detour, we ran into a bit of trouble as we seemed to drive around around in circles through this town that we had no idea where we were.

It was late into the night hours, the children had been so good, sleeping through the drive, when I had asked my husband to stop and ask the next person we saw to help us with directions to get back onto the highway. Finally coming to a gas station, a man was outside in which we pulled over and asked for his assistance. We were so thankful that he knew exactly where we needed to go, and he even pointed out on the map the rest of the route that we would need to follow that would take us right to the exact town we needed to be in, so that we could rest awhile before meeting up with my cousin and her family that I hadn't seen for years.

Girlfriends, there is no worse feeling than being lost, especially in a time when there were no cell phones with google map to guide one along their route, no "Sally" as I call mine now, to say re-routing re-routing to get one back on track. Thank goodness it wasn't just me and the two children, it was much more comforting having my husband being there doing the fine job of driving that he did.

How many stories have we heard of this or that child being lost, as search parties were formed to go out looking for the child, with a description of clothing they were last seen wearing. I can't even imagine how any child must have felt as they had wandered of to a place they did not recognize, or how that parent must have felt when they realized that their child was missing or lost. I thank God for every child that has been found and reconciled back to their family.

There is another thing we as parents who are serving the Lord think about, when we have a child that is spiritually lost and are not living for the Lord, we know how this feels. We who serve the Lord are called His children, He is the great shepherd and we are His sheep. He knows when one of His sheep are lost, He will never give up on any one of them. Just like we as parents, we never give up on our children why, because we love them just like Jesus loves us, we are waiting for them to come to the Lord. Our parents at one time would have prayed for us to get our lives turned around in order that we would serve the Lord.

There is no one that will love us any greater than Jesus does, His love is unconditional, His love is everlasting, and His love is eternal. Jesus died on the cross so that none would be lost, John 3:16, Romans 5;8. John 14:6 tells us that Jesus said to him " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Each and every one of us was lost at one point or another in our life, we were once one of those lost sheep, but praise God now we are found.

Girlfriends, let's each one of us go out and share the gospel and the love of Jesus to others who are lost, let's bring Jesus and His love to them, since we are His hands and feet extended here on this earth, we must do our part for the glory of God, Amen? Let's go out to find the lost sheep and help bring them home.

Father God, I thank you this morning for another opportunity to give praise to you and for another marvelous day. Lord, I thank you in advance for connecting us with any lost sheep, any lost souls who have not yet had an opportunity of meeting you. Lord, I thank you for a special connection with them so that your love and your gospel can be shared. I pray that others would step up and go out and share the precious story of Jesus to the lost, Lord, let each of us be used as your hands and feet extended in a special way that only the love of Jesus is illuminated to the lost, so that each precious soul can be brought into the kingdom for your glory Lord, in Jesus name, Amen.
