Do You Believe

Good Morning Girlfriends:

As I was getting ready this morning to step outside to start the car I was thinking, boy am I ever thankful for a long winter coat that reaches almost to my knees and heated seats in the car to sit on, on days like this snappin' cold morning.

As I sat in my same place that I sit each morning with my coffee, I began to think about when I was looking out the window at the red in the sky over yonder as daylight was breaking, cars were rushing by, obviously off to work, as I looked at my surroundings, the snow, the ice on the road, it wasn't until I had went outside that I could feel the cold. My eyes could not see how cold it was but the snow and the ice was the affects from the cold.

A few years ago I remember a Minister doing a little demonstration with a chair. He had brought the chair up to the front of the congregation, and as he described that the chair had a back on it, a seat on it and four legs underneath of it, he then asked the question, "How do I know that this chair will hold me if I sit on it?" Not everyone is the same size or weight, but most people do not hesitate when they sit down, do they? Do you even hesitate or think about it when you reach fore the light switch to turn it on...no we just flip the switch and the light comes on. This morning when I went out to start the car and even though it was cold, I did not give it a second thought about whether the car would start or not, it just did.

So many times I have marveled over the creation of a baby and how it is formed. It starts out from a 'living' sperm as it connects with a 'living' egg to fertilize and that is the first step to the formation of a baby. Before ultra sounds and sonograms came out, a mother could not see that baby in her belly, but she knew it was there because she could feel it, as she waited for the day that she would give birth and be able to see it for the first time, as that little one takes it's first breath, and that leads to another point. Air is all around us, we cannot see it by just looking around, we cannot taste it, we just know that it is there as we breath in. When a big wind comes up and blows the leaves around, we can see the affects that the air is blowing, moving, it's there.

When I am driving, I always look at the sky as I marvel over the colors, textures of the clouds, the sunrise, the sunsets and how it is all formed to create the most beautiful masterpiece painting in the sky. The animals even know when and how to start preparing for winter, it was already downloaded into their being when they were created. How do mothers already have "motherly instincts" when they are raising a child, who put it there?

Girlfriends, this is easiest but most complex topic that people talk about all the time. There are just too many facts and evidence that lead us to believe that there is a God. I heard a man tell a story that he was talking to another man that did not believe there is a God. The man who did believe asked the other man, "then why don't you let me pray that your very breath be taken away." the man had quickly responded, no. The man asking the question said, "I thought that you didn't believe that there is a God, what's the problem then." In conclusion, he obviously could not argue that point that was made. That may have sounded like a very harsh question to ask, but it got the attention of the so called non believer, and it turned him around to his way of thinking.

There may be many things that we are believing for, things we are believing that will happen in the future, but the biggest question is, "Do you believe that there really is a God and that He came to save you?" John 3:16 tells it all very clearly when it says, "For this is how God loved the world; He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (NLT version) God loves us, we are His creation, and He does not want any one of us to leave this world without believing that He exists, and that He died for us on the cross for us, and as we accept Him into our heart, that we will one day be living with Him in heaven on the day that He comes back to take us to that heavenly home. Do You Believe, that is the question.

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I pray that those who are reading this today would have open ears and a open heart to believe and receive everything that has been brought out today, that there would be no question in their mind that You do exist and that You do love them, and You did die on the cross for each and every one of them, and all they have to do is believe and invite you in. I pray this in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
