Do You Feel Like You Are Snowed In

For I'm going to do a brand new thing. See I have already begun! Don't you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert! Isaiah 43:19 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

I'm not quite sure why this thought ran through my mind, but I remember this one winter storm that had blown across the open farm land, in which we lived. Snow was coming down hard, the winds were tremendous being out in the open of farm country, you could not see the house that sat right across the road. The winds blew and the snow continued to come down hard and furiously for the rest of the day and all through the night, but what could a person do but wait till it was over.

This was our first winter living in this wide open country, as our eyes opened the next morning, we wondered what we would be facing as we looked out the big picture window in the kitchen. To our amazement, the snow and the wind was still swirling outside, not as bad as the day before, but the winds were nothing like I'd ever seen before. Starting the day with a morning coffee, I headed to the front door to take a closer look at where I knew my car was sitting. As I stepped out into the entry way, I was completely shocked at what I was looking at, or maybe what I wasn't looking at. To my surprise, I was not able to see my black car at all for all the snow that had came in with such a force, had buried it.

As I slowly opened the front door, there was another, not so sweet surprise to behold. I was looking at a complete block of snow that filled the doorway, leading to the outside world, we were snowed in, literally! Thank goodness that we had access to shovels that was previously brought into the entryway for the "just in case." When my husband used to have his own trucking company many years ago, he used to tell the other truck drivers that we lived so far up north that he had to keep the snow blower on the porch, just to make a way out. Of course he was joking, but when you think about it sometimes that would be a good idea.

Girlfriends do you ever feel like that at times, that you feel like you are blocked in, and you can't get out or find a way out of something that you are facing. Sometimes you may feel like you are digging your way out, just like we had to do with that huge block of snow that had blocked our door. As I think back on that time, as we began digging our way out, I was singing and praising and thanking God, that we had shovels to be able to dig from the inside out, that is where I had changed my focused. I didn't stay fixated on the storm, or the pile of snow that blocked the door and covered the car, I was thankful that God had provided a way for us to get out.

Isn't that what God is saying to us in Isaiah 43:19, that He will make a road through the wilderness, that He will create rivers for us in the desert places. When we are facing trials, hard times, and situations in our lives, if we can learn to take what God's word is saying to us, and declare it out loud, back to Him what His word says, He will do what it says for us. We are believing in God to do what He says He will do, meaning that He will perform His word, He will make it happen. (Jeremiah 1:12) God wants to show us new things, He doesn't want us to focus on the things that has happened in the past or the way things were done in the past, but we are to focus on what God is doing in the "now."

There are going to be times that we do not understand what is happening, or how to do, that "something" that you know God is leading you to do, but the main thing is that we keep our focus on Him, keep our heart posture right as we praise Him, and not look at the situation that is front of us, but to keep our focus on the 'One" who will bring us through it. If you are facing a job loss, a job change, God will open the waters and make a way for you to go through to get to it. If you are facing a block that has you stumped in a relationship situation, God is opening up the waters for you to walk through on dry land, He will walk you through it. If you are facing a sickness or a surgery, God is there with you and He is making a way for you to come through it as well. He wants us to know that as His children, He is always with us no matter what we are facing, He will always make a way out of the wilderness, He wants us to declare His word so that He can perform it, Amen, stand on His word girlfriends.

Father God, I praise You, I glorify You, I lift up Your holy name, the name of Jesus. I thank you and I declare that You indeed, are making a way for each person that is represented here today, You are leading them through their trial, their situation, their trouble. There is nothing that is too difficult for You. You are the Lord of Lords and the King of all kings, You are King Jesus and I worship and praise You and I thank You in advance for what You are doing and going to do, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
