Does Your Battery Need Charged?

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men's advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. But they delight in doing everything that God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely. They are like trees along the riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

It had taken three trips back and forth from Nova Scotia to New Brunswick to bring back all of our belongings, as doors opened up for us to move back. I was so excited to be back in my home land, but sad to leave the place that I had loved immediately after being there. My husband had been a trucker for many years and he had every kind a gadget you could think of, as I came across this box shaped machine wondering what it was all about. He began to explain to me, that if the battery in a vehicle needed a boost, there were two settings the charger could be set on. One setting was called a "trickle," where a battery may be a little weak in charge, the power from the charger would come through at a slower pace with not as much power flowing through. If a battery was really run down then another switch could be flipped to allow for a higher and stronger currant to flow through to charge the battery at a quicker and stronger pace. Understanding this procedure, I realized that this was a great apparatus to have around.

Girlfriends, as I was thinking about this, it's similar to our relationship with God isn't it? We can either pick up and read our Bible once in awhile as His word will just trickle into us, because we don't read it as often or we can read it each day, day and night so more of His word gets into us, as it flows with more power as we understand his word in a greater capacity.

When we first give our hearts to the Lord, we are usually so eager to learn everything we can about Him as we dive into the Bible reading the words on the pages, but not really understanding what it is saying to us at first, but as we stick with it and read more often, the power of God's word is flowing through our spirit for more understanding. There have been times, when life gets busy and we have many things on our plate, that we can very easily trickle off from getting into His word, and when this happens we don't feel as "charged up" when situations come our way. In order for us to stay charged up, we need to do what our key verse says, to be in His word both day and night, so that we are learning all of the ways that God would have to be as we are walking closer to Him and with Him. And just like the Psalms says, we will be deeply rooted in God's word as we are feeding on His words of life. We will bring forth fruit, we will prosper and our leaves will not wither.

Have you ever seen sparks fly when the wrong cables are connected to the wrong post on a car battery, it would be the same for us is we hung around people that were not Godly people, if we do not stay grounded in the word, and when a person is not strong enough in the Lord, it can be easier to be pulled back into their old ways of life, so that is why it is so important to stay connected to the right power source, and to stay grounded in the world so we won't fall away.

Praise God, we always have a choice in life whether we want to be fully charged up and stay charged up or if we just want a little trickle of His word working through us, it's all up to us. So, girlfriends, in order to fight the things that come against us in life, let's stay fully charged up as we stay fully connected to the right power source and that is God's word, Amen! Here a few scriptures to go along with todays word... Colossians 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:14-16 and James 1:21-25.

Father God, I praise You and I thank You for Your word that has such power and life to help us through every one of life's problems. Whether we are new Christians or we have been living for You for years, Lord help us to stay connected to Your word each and every day so that we will grow stronger in Your word, in order to fight the good fight of life and whatever comes our way so that we will be able to stand against the enemy in a victorious way, in Jesus name. For the one dear soul who has never accepted Jesus as Your Lord and Savior, today is the day of salvation and there is no better time than the present to do so. Lord I pray that the one who has never met You yet in a divine way, I ask Lord that You would show Yourself to them in a very intimate and special way in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
