"Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life." 1 John 5:12 NIV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
How many of you wonderful ladies remember this commercial, it was back in the day about "Parkay." It was portraying that even though it was a margarine, it was so good that it tasted just like butter which makes everything so much better.
There was a commercial I remember hearing as a television commercial about everything was better with "Allstate." This was a Insurance company that had been around for awhile and they promised lower rates, that your insurance would not go up if you had let someone use your car and they were in an accident. This company was promising better coverage and better protection, that people were in good hands with "Allstate."
Well all of those things are wonderful for great car insurance and great butter, but I like to think that life is so much better because of knowing Jesus. The good news from our key verse 1 John 5:12 is that when you welcome Jesus into your life, into your world, and giving your spirit over to Him, it will help to ensure that you will have a fulfilling and a happy life. Isn't that just what all of us are really looking for, is a happy life?
When I was reading in 2 Chronicles 25-28, there were kings that would listen to the leading of the Lord but only partially, not all the way. Chapter 28, King Ahaz came onto the scene and it was said that he was an evil king and he led for sixteen years, worshipping idols of Baal. It was told in verse three that he not only went out to burn incense but he also sacrificed his own children in the fire, just like the heathen nations, can you imagine that. The Lord allowed many of King Ahaz's troops to be slaughtered and to be deported because they had turned away from the Lord. This evil king had made a mess of the country, the people who lived there, they turned away from God and worshipped their false idols, burning incense every where in their worship. A mess was made of God's temple by slashing everything to pieces, by nailing the temple doors shut so no one could worship God. King Ahaz spiritually collapsed, worshipping the gods of Damascus who had defeated him, and sacrificing to them as well, which angered the Lord God.
It wasn't until chapter twenty-nine that King Hezekiah was crowned king after the death of King Ahaz. It was said that his reign was a good one in the Lord's opinion, just as his ancestor David had done. In the first year of his reign, he had the temple doors repaired and opened, King Hezekiah had the priests sanctify themselves and the temple of the Lord. He had them clean out all of the debris that was hidden in there, for he realized that his forefathers had sinned against the Lord and that is why the Lord had turned His back on the people. King Hezekiah had made a covenant with the Lord that the temple would be cleaned out and cleaned up and it would be open for the people to worship at the altar of God.
King Hezekiah lead the people back to worship the Lord their God, he had people come with instruments, having a consecration ceremony unto the Lord God. King Hezekiah had instructed that every one of the idol altars and every one of the incense altars were to be torn down and destroyed, for they now would only be worshipping their God.
Over in chapter 32 of 2 Chronicles, it was then that King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded Judah and it was their intent to attack Jerusalem. This king taunted the people and threatened them, saying that they were going to die from famine, that they would be committing suicide if they stayed. It was then that King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah prayed to God for help and the Lord sent an angel, one angel who destroyed the Assyrian army with all of its officers and generals.
Girlfriends, i don't know about you, but that is the God I serve and will always serve. He is the one that supports us in hard times and trouble, He is the one that hears our cries when we call out to Him in prayer. He is the one who saves us from our enemies, the ones who come against us and try to harm us mentally, physically and emotionally. God is the God who is on our side when we are totally sold out to Him, and that is exactly who he is looking for, ones who are sold out to Him not just half way, or some of the way, or a week on and a week off so to say, all the way, everyday.
As I look back on my life, I can see how God has always been there. When I wasn't living for Him, I had still called out to Him from time to time, but it wasn't until I gave my life completely over to Him, that is when I saw a change take place. As I grew in the Lord, chasing after Him and following Him, I knew there was something more that I wanted with Him. I wasn't satisfied being where I was at, I wanted to climb the executive ladder so to say, only it's God's ladder I have been climbing. Girlfriends, the more that you search, the more time that you spend with God, the more that you will learn about Him and who He is. I can tell you, there is no better place to be than in the hands of God, Allstate can never cut it. Listen to this, what John 10:28 says to us, "I give them eternal life, and they shall never die. No one can snatch them out of my hand." Good News Translation.
God is a God that protects us, He is the God that sets us free from things, He is the God that delivers us out of the hands of our enemies. God is the God that heals us from sickness and disease, He is the God who mends the broken hearted, and He is the God that provides for us, is there any other God that we would ever want to serve, I think not, Amen.
Let's Pray,
Father God, there is no other God that will ever compare to you. You are the one and true living God and there is no other. Lord through all of this shaking that is going on in our world today, may the true worshippers, the true followers come out of this shaking. Lord help us to bring as many souls to the feet of Jesus. Lord help us to keep our eyes open for an opportunity to share the love of Jesus no matter where we are. Lord, there are so many souls that are lost and they are searching, so use us Lord to reach those very souls, in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on to someone who may be one that is searching.
