The Lord will give (unyielding and impenetrable) strength to His people, the Lord will bless His people with peace. Psalm 29:11 AMP
Good Morning Girlfriends:
A friend and I went out to my other friends house to fix a leak in the roof that was causing water to leak into the kitchen, as well as fix the screen on the front door. As I was getting ready, looking for my sneakers, the friend of mine apparently had said, as he grabbed the staple gun, "let's take this with us just in case we need it," away we went. It had taken so much time to work on the roof, tearing down the chimney and capping it off, that we didn't have time to fix the screen door.
The next day I had planned to put some plastic on some windows at my house to help with winter winds causing drafts, then I remembered that the staple gun had been borrowed by my son in law the previous day, so I went looking for it, and nowhere was it to be found. My daughter went looking around the place that she knew he had used it, it wasn't there. We looked all over the entry way, not there. My daughter called him at work asking him where he left it and he said that it was on the deep freeze out in the porch, but it was not, it seemed to be a mystery.
With one window covered in the hallway with plastic, that was a start to my project, after making an extra trip to the store to get two more rolls of double sided tape, thinking it would take me farther than it did, I was onto the next window. Not being able to find my staple gun, was not helping things get done, and it was becoming a little aggravating as it had my project to a complete stop. The question was asked, "did you take it with you the day before when you were going to fix the screen door?" My reply was, "why would it be taken when the friend of mine would have had his own in his work vehicle," so i sent him a text and guess what I found out...He did take it. He proceeded to tell he said he was going to take the staple gun, just in case it was needed, and that was the time that I was looking for my sneakers, so apparently I had not been paying close attention to what was said.
After the mystery was solved, I had said to my daughter, "I could have thrown a fit or got bent all out of shape because we couldn't find the stapler to finish my work, but what would that solve, nothing at all." I remembered this prayer that was prayed by Reinhold Niebuhr many, many years ago..."God grant me the serenity(strength) to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference." These words are so true in any situation we may find ourselves in, if I had of raised my voice in frustration, flew off in a fit of anger, what would that have done to help my situation...nothing accept make every one feel bad and it would have changed the whole atmosphere, and it may have set the mood for the afternoon to be unpleasant.
Girlfriends, there are always going to be things that take place in our lives that are upsetting, frustrating and right down aggravating, but if we blow our top, getting upset, it will not change the situation at all. I have learned to let a lot of things slide, so to say, when things happen that I cannot change. I could not change the fact that I could not finish my project on the windows without the staple gun, so I figured there is always something else that could be done as I dropped my focus from the working on the windows, so I went to my bedroom and worked on a little cleaning there. I tell you there is always something that can be done. The enemy would want us to get upset and get angry but it's like we have to put our hand up in the air to him and say, "not today devil."
Let's Pray,
Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I thank you for each and every day that you give us on this earth. Lord I thank you as we get closer to you by reading your word, we learn that our peace, our joy and our strength comes from you as we lean more on you throughout our daily lives. Father i speak a peace over each person who may be frustrated about life's situations, I ask that you would surround them with your heavenly presence to keep them motivated to realize there will be a lot of things that we cannot change but that you are our comforter to help us to make it through that life's struggle. Lord fill each one with your peace and joy as they look to you and realize that you are truly all they need in order to have that peace, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends, be blessed and pass the blessings on.
