Get Going

"Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

It has been a busy summer with craft sales to get ready for, standing at my kitchen cupboard creating signs of all different sizes, making sea glass pictures from beautiful pieces of sea glass I picked from several special beaches to be treasured. Two beautiful new babies to get prepared for coming into the family, with baby showers to plan for, decorations to hang and food to prepare. With one little bundle coming nine days early, it is now time to prepare for the next one to come and one more craft sale to be ready for.

Last evening I decided to clean my table off from all the piles of craft items, and decorate it in beautiful fall colors with new placemats and a beautiful array of flowers to sit in the middle of the table. The outside of the house is decorated with a few simple fall decorations, just to add an array of the beautiful colors that will soon arrive everywhere a person looks.

Waking up this morning, I remembered having a dream that the kitchen table was loaded with all kinds of "stuff and things," and as company was coming in, I had asked the children to help clear the table.

Girlfriends, I don't know about you and what your summer has been like, but I know I have been feeling like one of those little chipmunks that run back and forth with food in their mouth as they take it to their little hole in the ground to store it. There has been many things that we have been preparing for, and getting ready for, as new things have been happening all around us.

I feel that God has been doing something in each one of us, it's like the push has been on, changes has been taking place within us, our sleep patterns, our daily routines, the people we are connected with, there has been great change going on. In our key verse, God is telling us to forget the former things, the old ways of doing things, that He is doing a new thing and now it springs forth. He also tells us that is He who will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Just as the new season has come, and new babies are being born, craft sales are coming, new relationships are being brought together, some old relationships are being closed so to say, new doors are being opened, new homes are being built, now is the time that it springs forth. God tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.

The Lord also tells us in Psalm 32:8 that He will instruct us and teach us in the way that we should go; He will counsel us with His eye upon us. God is always leading, He is always guiding us and speaking to us to show us what we are to do. So we have to keep moving our feet forward, we have to keep pressing on, keep moving as we keep our eyes looking directly forward, and our gaze to be straight before us as it tells us to do in Prov. 4:25. We are not to look back at former things, our former lives, our former relationships, the old ways of doing things, the way we used to live, just as it says in 2 Cor. 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ Jesus, he is a new creation. The old has past away: behold, the new has come."

When Jesus spoke to the man in John 5:8, and told him to pick up his bed and walk, He was saying to get going, you can do it, you can walk now, you are doing a new thing. The same is for us girlfriends, we need to get going on that new project, that new job, the new business idea, the new way to do ministry, get going with that new relationship, get going on serving Jesus with a greater truer intensity, get going on all of the ides that are rolling around in our heads and bring them forth. The Lord reminds us over and over that He is always with us and He will never leave us or forsake us, Deut. 31:6. He also reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has plans for us, plans for good and not evil, to give us a future and a hope. So girlfriends, let's get moving on which we are being called to do, Amen?

Let's Pray, Father God I lift my hands up in praise to you for you are the one and only God that is worthy of my praise. You are the one and only who knows the beginning to the end of each and every one of our lives. Lord, I thank you for each and every one who is reading this today. Lord, I thank you for all of the new ideas that you are giving us, all of the new relationships that you are bringing into existence. Lord, it has been a long hard haul for many who have been going through some mighty trials, and I pray that they would be able to rest in you knowing that you are bringing, and have brought them through their trials. Lord, strengthen us to get going with the ideas and things that you have planned for us to do, so we will bring glory to your name, in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
