"The harvest is so great, and the workers are so few," he told his disciples. "So pray to the one in charge of the harvesting, and ask him to recruit more workers for his harvest fields." Matthew 8:37-38 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

I'm so very thankful for our farmers and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all their hard work and long hours that they put in to feed many families, we need them. Living on a side road in the country, I have watched many heavy big truck and machinery run up and down this road from spring time, as they were harrowing the fields, removing rocks from erosion over the winter months, to planting seeds of barley, potatoes, corn and whatever seeds they planted.

All through the summer months the farmers would be out in the fields checking their crops, watering the plants that were now shooting up at a good pace, removing any rocks that continued to erode, making sure there wasn't any rot coming to their crops that could cause loss. They worked from sun up to sun down even in the hot grueling sun, but rain or shine they had to be on duty to make sure their crops survived so they would have a harvest to pick.

There are many farmers in this area, some may be smaller farmers than others, but none the less they all work just as hard to keep their crops alive for harvesting, in which we are now in that season. I have watched truck after truck load of potatoes go by, as well as truck loads of hay and straw have passed by my window, to put in storage for the animals for feed and warmth over the winter months. I've noticed that some of the farmers bale the hay the old fashioned way in the square bales, and some farmers roll the hay in the big round rolls and then they wrap it in the white plastic, so it is covered and protected over the winter months.

Girlfriends, as I sit and think about the long hours they put in and all their hard work, what would we do without them, they truly are our food source, and thank God that He gave them the gifts to be such good farmers to work diligently to see their crops come to fruition so that we can enjoy the bounty, and the reaping of the harvest.

We truly need the farmers on the big scale of things, to help feed people all over the world, but you know I have seen more and more people going back to planting their own gardens and even raising their own animals, so they can freeze and bottle their own vegetables for the winter months. Whether people plant their own gardens or the farmers are planting in the fields, the land has to be worked diligently every day, so as to have a great harvest at the end of the season. If the land is not worked, the weeds are not pulled out and the rocks taken out, the vegetables won't survive, and the crop could be lost. If the farmers don't have enough hired hands, some of their crops would rot, go to waste and would be lost, and what a great devastation that would be.

Of course, we know it's the same for the kingdom of God, if there are not enough workers in the field, there are souls that may be lost, and that would truly be the biggest devastation of all. Galatians 6:9 tells us, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Hebrews 12:11 says, "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

If the farmer is not disciplined to getting up early in the morning and going out to check their crops, they will not have a good harvest, they have to be diligent in their work, even in the heat of the day, all of their hard work will pay off. This last verse in Hebrews is talking about us as Christians, we need to be diligent in our Christian walk, sharing the gospel and the love of Jesus, so that there will be a harvest of souls for the kingdom of God, we would not want to see any soul lost.

Girlfriends, whoever of you are working in the fields, continue to look to the Lord, for He is your source, work diligent and never give up, even when you may be weary, because the harvest will be worth every waking moment. Leviticus 26:3-4 says, "If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees and their fruit." Amen! 2 Corinthians 9:6 reminds us that whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. So let's get out into the fields and continue to sow seed so that there will a great harvest of souls coming into God's Kingdom, Amen, Amen!

Let's Pray,

Father God, You are a good good Father and I praise you this morning and I thank you for yet another wonderful day to work in the field. Lord, I speak strength over your workers in the field, so that they will keep going, keep working to share the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ. Lord, continue to fill our mouths with the words that would need to be said in certain situations. Your word says that if we open our mouths you will fill it, so I thank you for using us to be a part of building your kingdom and doing whatever we can to bring the harvest of souls in, it's all for your glory in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Be blessed and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on in hopes that it would bless someone today.
