But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was chastised that we might have peace, he was lashed-and we were healed. Isaiah 53:5 The Living Bible
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Nervous but excited to start a new school with her friends, my daughter had asked me to go with her on her first day to get her settled in and to make sure she was able to make the combination to work on her locker. The first day is always full of excitement as everyone comes together after being away from each other for the summer break. Locker doors bang, chatter begins as each one is asking who each one has for a teacher, as we walked around looking for the room number. When the bell rang for school to begin, I drove back home to wait to hear all about her first day.
As weeks passed by, a routine was getting into place, waiting for the bus to drop my daughter off at the end of the day, she met me at the door with a long face, as she began to explain what happened at school. A young girl at school had walked by her in the hallway, calling out some words that were hurtful and totally shocking considering that this girl didn't even know my daughter. As she continued to explain that she hadn't done anything to cause her to lash out in the way that she did, and that she continued walking past the girl to get to her next class. I tried to explain to my daughter the best way that I could, that her home life may not be good, and that we didn't know what she faces each day in her home, so she could be going through some really rough things. The next day my daughter decided to try smiling at the girl if she saw her at school and thought she would try talking to her to see if she could be friends with her to find out what her story was.
When we as people are hurting inside, sometimes we tend to lash out at other people, not meaning to and sometimes it can be deliberately depending on the person. This all stems back from the beginning of time as it all went down in the garden with Adam and Eve. When Eve disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, that is when sin came in and they felt shame and innocence was gone as they hid from God. If we remember back when God created everything, He said that it was good as Adam and Eve walked around with the animals in the garden, but when sin came in everything changed, and that is when man became separated from God.
When we see someone who is doing better than us or we think someone looks better than us, we tend to inflict some of our pain on that other person. Let's read James 4:1-3 where it says, "What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don't they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don't have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous what others have, but you can't get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don't have what you want because you don't ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don't get it because your motives are all wrong-you want only what will give you pleasure."
Girlfriends, it is God and only God that can heal the hurt and pain that we suffer from instead of going around the same cycle of 'hurting people...hurting people. It is when we find the healing comfort and completeness in God that we stop this vicious cycle of hurting other people. In Ecclesiastes 3 there is a season for everything and in verse 11 that is when eternity can only be made joyful when we are in Christ Jesus. Remember our key verse, by Christ's stripes we are healed.
If you have been hurt by someone and you have been holding onto that hurt, or you have been going through a very hurtful situation, this is the day that the pain stops when you call out to Jesus, that is the reason why He went to the cross so that we would not have to carry all of these hurts, each hurt can be nailed to the cross as we give them over to Jesus and leave them there. That is the reason that He died, it was for our transgressions, our iniquities, that brought us peace, it was by His stripes we were healed, so we just have to reach out and take that healing, it was already done for us when Jesus went to the cross.
During that school year, my daughter made friends with that young girl and she tried to help her through her troubles, it is by the love of Jesus that reaches people, it's love.
Let's Pray,
Precious Jesus, I thank You for this day and I thank You Lord that You are in it with us. Lord I thank You that when You went to the cross it was for each and every one of us down here on this earth. You love each one of us and You do not want to see us carrying or holding onto any hurt or pain, because that is why You died that day to take it all away from us. Lord I lift up that dear one to You that has not given their heart to You that today is their day to make a brand new start in their life and everything that they have been through will be completely washed away in Jesus name. To the one who has had a recent hurt or even an old hurt I lift that one up to You Lord that with Your wonderful powerful healing hand, You would touch that person in a miraculous way and wash away all their hurts and pain in the mighty name of Jesus, so that they can testify of what the Lord has done, and I thank You Lord in advance for the miraculous healings that are going to take place today in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
Be blessed seet ones and pass the blessings on each day.
