Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. James 5:7 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
For the last two months, plans had been organized for an upcoming "Baby Shower" for my youngest daughter who is expecting a little baby boy. Whatever time we had together, we would make the guest list of all the people to invite, and as we had notified the guests, they were so gracious to offer to bring food to the shower. Visions of decorations were going through my head as I wrote it all down on a piece of paper, just waiting for the time it would all be brought together as a surprise. Party games were googled in order to bring some fun into her special day. The list involved in "The diaper Bag game, Questions about the mommy to be, baby food testing and an all new one that I had made up was pin the baby on the mama." Decorations came together, and for the special day, my living room was transformed from my beautiful pink decor to a lovely aqua blue ambiance, curtains included. The countdown was on as the day was quickly approaching, everyone was so excited for the big day. My daughter and I had decided we would dress for the occasion in the same colors for the baby shower, and when the day approached we realized many of the guests were dressed in the matching color as well. The baby shower was a success, with many beautiful gifts and cards, with much fun and laughter.
Now as we wait for that little precious bundle to come, friends and family have been helping the new couple get everything ready and put into place to make the transition as easy as it possibly can be. Items have already been picked out to be packed into the bag to take to the hospital, as we all think about what this little one will look like. His little name was all picked out but another name was created, so when the big day comes for his arrival, that is when his name will be picked. Sometimes you have to wait and see what name will fit. It's all very exciting.
Girlfriends, there are many things in life that we wait for to happen, and sometimes it is not so easy as we are in the waiting period. What do we do while we wait...patience is not simply the ability to wait, but it's how we act or behave while we wait. What does that mean, there is a scripture that says in Galatians 6:9 that tells us, "Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
Maybe you have been waiting for an answer to come back for a job that you applied for, maybe you are waiting for that promotion at your place of employment, I'm sure many of us are waiting for a prodigal to come home, or waiting for that relationship to get turned around, whatever it is girlfriends, God wants us to know as it tells us in Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."
Did you know that even God waits...He waits for each one of His children to come home to Him, that means He waits for us to ask Him into our heart and serve Him so that at the end of our life's journey, we will be able to go home and live with Him eternally. How wonderful that day will be. Lord, as we wait on all of our questions and prayers that we have for you, we will wait and trust that you have every little thing all worked out for our good.
Let's Pray,
Father God, as many of us are all in different stages of our lives, Lord we look to you for answers to our many questions and prayers that have went up to your throne room. Lord, we are waiting patiently for our answers, for we know that you are working everything out behind the scenes that we don't even know about. Lord, I pray for strength for each one to endure the wait time in the waiting room for each of their answers that is on the way and that you would give each one a peace that surpasses all their understanding as they wait boldly for their answers, in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends and pass the blessings on.
