I Love The Power

In solemn truth, I tell you, anyone believing in me, shall do the same miracles I have don, and even greater ones, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12 TLB

Good Morning Girlfriends:

A few years ago my two youngest daughters and I had been to town shopping, and doing some errands, each time we came out from a place of shopping, the girls would race for the car calling out "shot gun," which meant the one who called it out first, got to sit in the front seat. As we were homeward bound and coming to a straight stretch, Mama sped up and put the "pedal to the metal" as we raced for home. Later on in the week, somehow we were on the topic of speed and going fast, as one daughter said that it was fun to go fast and my youngest daughter had said that she didn't like it and that it scared her, not that I was going so fast that it would have put us in jeopardy, but just to have a little fun.

Another time I was on the highway heading to my father in laws house, when a person on a motorcycle came up behind me and passed right on by, as I picked up speed, the power in that motor of my car kicked in and caught up to the motorcycle and it was my turn to sail on by. The two of us played this little game back and forth until I came to the exit where I had to get off at. Each one of us tooted our horns to each other and waved as we sailed on our separate ways. I loved to feel the power of a vehicle kicking in as it picked up speed and to hear the power of the motors it sped up. At times I would watch a race car show, watching the car as they sped around the track and their motors would roar like thunder.

Girlfriends, I want to share yet another power with you, a much higher power than that of a motor of a car, and that is the power of the "Holy Ghost". I was at a service the other night, which I was a part of, we sang songs of praise and worship, we heard a powerful message on "Application", things that we may apply for in life, but as the message went on, God's word tells us how we need to stand on the word and apply it to our own life. The word of God is meant for everyone, not just the people in the congregation but for the Minister as well who is bringing it across. As the message came to a close, the power of God showed up in that place with such great power, as God was healing people, through the laying on of hands. A lady's back was healed that night as she walked around the room to show that she would never have been able to do that before because she had sat for so long, she felt immediately healed. Another person was delivered from a curse that had been spoken over this person, that no one even knew about, but God did. Another person was prayed over, and delivered from something unknown to man, but known to God, as you could see the joy come over that face, you knew that the power of God had done something. I will tell you, there is nothing like being in the presence of the power of God. God is still a wonder, miracle working God, He is so totally amazing and He never ceases to amaze me.

There is also power in love, the true love of Jesus Christ. I believe in the immeasurable power of love; that true love can endure any circumstances and reach across any distance. There are many hurting, mixed up people out in this world that need to be shown a little love, because there does not seem to be enough of it shown anymore. The world has taken God out of everything in this world that we were brought up on, in the schools, in the home, in the community, but it is up to us to bring back the true love of Jesus Christ, and pass it on, there s power in that. Here is a little quote which makes so much sense: "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will then know peace." How true is that!

There are many people who have been hurt by many people, but it takes the love from other people to show them that they can make it. The power of love, the true love of Jesus Christ is a wonderful treasure to have. We have the choice to walk in that love, and when we do that will show others that we have the true love of Jesus within us, so let's be His hand extended and show people what the power of God's love can do.

Father God, I thank you for the love of Jesus Christ, your son and what He did for us by dying on the cross for our sins, as He laid down His own life for each and every one of us. Lord help us to be your hand extended to show others who do not know you yet, the special love of Jesus as we do whatever it is that you ask us to do for the people that you put in our path each day. Let your love shine through our vessels as that beacon of light that will bring them to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
