Is There Hope For The Brokenhearted?

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 NIV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

After reading an article the other night of a young boy's journey dealing with a bully at school, has come to and end. It was documented in the article that this young twelve year old boy had been pushed around and picked on at school for quite some time for every little thing. The article stated that this young boy was very kind and loving and he had even tried to reach out to be a friend to the other boy who was causing him so much grief.

Being acquainted with a lady that had lost her adult so, after praying for him for two years not knowing where he was or if he was alright. This lady continued to express her concern of not knowing where her son was, or even if he was still alive or if he was even safe. Many women prayed with her and for her son in hopes that an answer would come soon, and one did two years later, but not the one we had hoped for.

Back and forth to the hospital time and time again for about two years, as my husbands kidneys were failing, doctors had run many tests, contacted different specialist in another city to see what could be done to help my husbands condition. Being on home dialysis for one year kept him going but not with a life that was constructive, or great quality. He lived out that last year of his life hooked up to bags of fluid that ran through his body four times a day, until the last trip we made to the hospital was his last. The two of us drove to the hospital in the city on one day and I drove home without him the next day, he was gone.

Girlfriends, we never know what life is going to hand us, but we do know who holds us in His hands and that is God our Heavenly Father. (Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 139:10) Sometimes there is no explanation at all why or how horrible things can happen in life, but to know that we have a life line to call out to or grab onto is a help to us when we are grieving and are in a heart broken state. God tells us in Psalm 55:22 to cast our burdens on the Lord, give them to God, whatever is hurting you, let God come and help you with it. Our key verse says that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. God sees each ones pain, He knows what you are going through, He is a heart God and He feels your pain. He saves the crushed in spirit, all we have to do is call out to Him to comfort us, to heal our broken hearts from the pain that is sometimes too hard to bare at times.

Is there hope for the broken hearted, yes there is and His name is above any other name and His name is Jesus. Psalm 9:9-10 tells us that "The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of troubles. Those who know your name trust in you, for you Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." Psalm 62:1-2 says, "Truly my soul finds rest in God, my salvation comes from Him." God wants to reassure each and every person that there is hope for all who are hurting and struggling with their pain. Even though it is hard to believe this, but God will give beauty for ashes, He will bring something good out of a bad situation, He says it in His word. (Isaiah 61:3)

At the end of the article that I had read the other night, the parents of this young boy are going to use their son's story to make it known and make people more aware of how serious "bullying" really is, and it needs to stop. Parents it is very important for us as parents, to show more love and let the love of God shine through us, yes to our own families, but to other families and children out there, who may not have the love in their homes. It all starts with just one, so let each of us be that one to show the "love of Jesus" around to other young people.

Let me leave you with a few scriptures on hope...Psalm 42:11, Psalm 71:5, Romans 12:12, Romans 15:13, Psalm 146:5, Psalm 147:11, Psalm 40:31. These are just a few scriptures that God reassures us that there is hope in Him.

Let's Pray,

Father God, I come to You today lifting up each individual who has suffered great loss years ago and who is experiencing great heart ache right now. Lord, Your word tells us over and over that You are close to the broken hearted, that Your hand is never to short that You cannot reach down to them and heal their brokenness. Lord, I am asking that You would visit each dear soul right now, right where they are at, that Your presence would be so strong, that each individual will feel the warmth of Your Almighty arms around them in a very tangible way. Lord, You are the one who binds up their wounds and replaces it with Your sweet peace. Let each dear soul, feel Your sweet peace flood their soul right now in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
