For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
God knew what He was doing, when He appointed David's son, Solomon, to be the next king. Before King David took his last breath, he had informed his son of a few men that were not on the up and up, David had asked Solomon to take care of these men as he explained what they had done over the years, David knew that Solomon would use wisdom over each matter. David had reminded Solomon to obey Gods laws and to follows all His ways and to keep each of the commands written in the law of Moses so that he would prosper in everything that he did. David had made his son Solomon king immediately after hearing that Adonijah, one of David's other sons, had taken it upon himself to announce himself as the new king before his father David had made the decree himself, there was a reversal in who was king.
After there had been a ceremony, appointed by King David making Solomon king, Solomon's first duty as the new king, was to deal with a half brother, Adonijah. Adonijah had manipulated Bathsheba to ask King Solomon if he would grant him a marriage with Abishag, knowing full well that it would put him in a position to take over and be king. Immediately King Solomon had to act on this requisition by having Adonijah executed because he had already been warned to behave himself, which he did not heed to, he continued to scheme and plot against Solomon.
The second act that Solomon had to bring forth was with Joab, that was one of the men that his father David had warned him about. Joab had learned about Adonijah's death, he had ran to the temple for sanctuary, knowing that he would be in trouble because he had joined forces with Adonijah's scheme and plot against King Solomon, and it was there that he too was executed for coming against the King. The third man was named Shimei that King Solomon's father had told him about. Shimei had been given a chance to build a home in Jerusalem but he was not to leave the perimeters for any reason, and the day that his slaves had ran away, Shimei went after them and he too was executed for not following the commands that he had been given many years ago. That took care of the men that David had told his son on his death bed.
Girlfriends, when I read all of these accounts in the Bible, it reminds me so clearly that it is not worth it to lie, steal, cheat, manipulate, plot, scheme or anything that has to do with evil in any way. I have learned over the years and we are now seeing again in this season that lies, underhandedness, plots, schemes, deception will always come out, people will not get away with such things. As the kings were put in place back in these days, as we see that some were appointed by God and some appointed themselves, the same things are the same today. Some people have put themselves in high places and there are some that God has put in some of those high places, and we are seeing today the ones who have been doing underhanded things in secret are being brought out in the open.
Girlfriends, the time is so much more crucial to make sure that we are in right standing with God who has the final say over our lives and where we will spend eternity, it is not worth trying to hide things because God sees it all anyway. I have made it a habit to always bow low before God in repentance, in order to keep my heart postured before Him. James 4:17 tells us, "So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is a sin." Then over in 1 John 1:8-10 we are reminded that, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us." Romans 3:23 also tells us "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," so that brings comfort to know that all have sin and fallen short.
It is also so good to know, that as quick as we are to repent and ask God for forgiveness, that He's just as quick to forgive us. So let each one of us today, take a look at our own life and make sure that we are in right standing with God Almighty, because it is certainly not worth holding on to anything that would get in the way of our relationship with God. For those who are reading this and have never given your life over to the one who loves you and died for you, today would be a very special day for you to make things right with your creator, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Father God, I praise You and thank You for this glorious day, and I thank You for a day that I can share You with others. Lord, if there is anyone here today that has searched their heart and want to repent in order to make things right before You, I say to them they are making the right decision and they will be so glad that they did. Lord, I thank You that You are a good God, You are a loving God, You are a gracious God, and You are a forgiving God and quick to forgive. Lord, I speak blessings over each one today and every day in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed dear sweet soul and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on.
