It's In Your Hands

"What do you have there in your hand?" the Lord asked him. And he replied, "A shepherds rod." Exodus 4:2 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

There are so many accounts in the Bible where God has showed His glorious power over and over again. When Moses was leading the Isrealites out of Egypt, he had a conversation with God because of his doubt that the people would not believe that God had really spoken to Moses and they would not listen to him. (Exodus 4:1) In verse two, God had asked Moses what was in his hand and said a rod, that is when God showed His power to Moses and the Isrealites over and over through the rod in which Moses carried. Water was turned to blood, plagues were sent, the Red Sea was parted, all because Moses held on to the rod and when he pointed it, God made things happen.

When the Shumminite woman put her two very last pennies in the offering plate, that was all she had to her name, God rewarded her for her trust in Him.

We know the account of the boy who had the fish and bread in his basket. When Jesus was teaching on the hillside to thousands of people, He asked the boy for his basket of food, then Jesus lifted the food up to God His father, God multiplied it so that it was enough to feed all of those people with some left over. That is what you call crazy power, wow!

Who can forget about David, the small shepherd boy. When he went out to stand before Goliath to fight, all he had in his hand was a slingshot and a stone. Now today we would be thinking what in the world could that do, right? Even though that was all that David had, he was coming before Goliath in the name of the Lord, and that is when God took over with that stone in order for it to hit Goliath with such a "wallop" that it put him to the ground dead. Now that is power!

It still amazes me every time I watch the movie of "Samson," when he was fight the Philistine army, all he had in his hand was the jaw bone of a donkey, and he sleighed thousands of men that day. I am in such awestruck of how God can work and move with great power.

Girlfriends, I don't know what is in your hand today. Maybe you are carrying the burden of a spouse, a child, a grandchild, a job opportunity, a decision to make, your own call to ministry, what side of the fence you want to be on with God. Just as God asked Moses to look at his hand, God wants us to do the same and whatever it is that you hold, He wants us to lift it up to Him, trusting Him that the same power that made that giant fall, the same power that fed the thousands of people, is still the same power that is at work for your situation today. There is nothing that God cannot do in any situation, it is our doubt that gets in the way sometimes, it's not Gods wonder working power that can't do it because He can and He will, do you believe?

Our situations are scary sometimes, just like it would have been for David as a young boy to stand in front of a giant that was probably three times or more, larger than him. But guess girlfriends, that giant of a situation that you are facing today is not too big for God, or Goliath would not have fallen for David, Amen?

Precious Jesus, Oh I thank You Lord, that You are the same wonder working God today that You were back so many years ago. Lord i have seen You bring me through so many situations in my life that You have worked out for my good. You have blessed me over and over again, that is who You are. Lord, I lift up that dear sweet person, who is having a hard time trusting and believing that You will come through for them in their situation. It is written that You are the same God yesterday, today and forever, and that You NEVER change. What miraculous things You did for people many centuries ago, You will do for people in the situations today. Lord, as these people take a look at their own hands and as they physically raise them to you with whatever it is they are carrying, as they surrender it up to You, You are the wonder working, miracle working God who is on the scene. Lord, I declare that their giant in their situation, will come down in the mighty, mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
