And He said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest awhile." For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat. Mark 6:31 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Have you ever been there, hustle and bustle, running back and forth from one craft market to another, the kitchen cupboard and table is lined with snippets of this and that trying create more product to sell, only to find out another craft show will be coming up in just a few short weeks. Sea glass sits in piles on the kitchen table, the glue gun stays piping hot to keep new sea glass pictures and signs ready for the big sale.
As if that wasn't enough, there are two sweet new babies to get ready for, being only a couple weeks away for the first one, preparations are being made for a fun baby shower. With a good crowd of friends and family to be in attendance, fun games are being prepared for lots of laughs, and we can't forget all the goodies that are waiting to be made for lovely afternoon luncheon. Decorations are hanging from the ceiling to create a beautiful atmosphere. As soon as the shower is over there will be two more craft sales before surgery will take place to bring sweet little baby girl into the world, as this "mimi" watches her grandchild for a few sleep overs until mama is able to come home from the hospital.
A couple short weeks after, another big craft sale will have to be prepared for, as well as another baby shower will be taking place, and this "mimi" will have a few more sleep overs with her other grandchild while his mama is in the hospital, "whoo" I will need a day to get away for a rest.
Oh my, girlfriends, have you ever been there when you wonder when will it slow down, I just need a day away. With so much going on, sometimes we can be at rest in our minds and our souls, but our bodies just need a rest. I don't know what a day away for rest looks like for you, but for me I love to go to the beaches that a friend of mine and I have found, and just take time to look for sea shells, sea glass, sea urchins and sand dollars and take in the fresh salt air as the breeze blows.
In Ecclesiastes 3 it tells us there is a season for everything and just to name a few, there is a time to be born, a time to die; a time to plant, a time to harvest; a time to destroy, a time to rebuild; a time to cry, a time to laugh; a time to find, a time to lose. Over in Genesis the word of God also tells us that on the seventh day, after He formed the earth, the heavens, the sky and the oceans, land, plants, fruit, the sun and the moon and stars, He filled the sky with birds and the waters with fish, He created animals to walk the earth, then one final creation was made, which was man, then God rested on the seventh day. (Gen. 1-2)
There are times in our lives where it seems like there is so much going on, and the thought may run through the mind, "When is this going to ever end," I need a break. God reminds us in His word that He is our resting place found in Psalm 132:14, and when we spend time with our Lord, He is the one who renews our strength (Isaiah 40:31) so that we can mount up like an eagle and soar, He revives us in order for us to be able to take a deep breath and go again.
Wherever you take some time to rest, whether it's in your favorite comfy chair reading, sitting outside in your lounger soaking up the sun, or on the beach collecting shells, God is always with us, we just have to look to Him, rest in Him and our strength will be renewed to be able to go through the next "go round." So enjoy your time away, your time of rest so that you will be able to face the next circus you may find yourself in.
Let's Pray,
Father God, I rejoice for another new day to praise You as my beautiful and wonderful Savior. Lord, I thank You for the very breath that I breathe knowing that it came from You. I lift up each tired and weary soul to You, I speak to them right now, let your mind be renewed, let your soul be renewed and let your body be refreshed as a wave of rest, strength and peace washes over you now in the Mighty name of Jesus. Rise up on wings as eagles and soar in Jesus name, Amen.
Be blessed and pass the blessings on to those you meet. Thank you for passing this message onto others as it may be an encouragement.
