And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58:11 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

As I was getting my morning coffee ready, I found myself singing these words "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming," and I wondered where have I heard that before, so I had to do a little research.

Remembering the movie that my children and I would have watched many years ago, this little ditty came from "Finding Nemo." Then I begin to think, how would this apply to my life or anyone's life for that matter, as I began to do a little digging.

Nemo had become missing, so his dad and a friend named Dory decided to go out looking for Nemo, and that's what started their long adventure together in the ocean to find the little fish called "Nemo." They had run into many obstacles, other fish, large fish at that, scary looking fish, sharks that wanted to eat them, a whale who would have eaten them. They hid out in caves under the ocean until it was safe to come out as they continued on their search. Dory was a good friend, but it seemed like she was causing more problems than what Nemo's dad had wanted. The adventure had never stopped as Nemo's dad and Dory looked high and low for little Nemo.

At one point in the movie, Dory had wondered where she came up with the phrase that she kept singing, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming." That was when she had a flashback to when she was a child, she was about to cross the ocean floor when her mother and father called out to her to stop. They were explaining to her that she had to look both ways before crossing, and Dory had felt that she made a big mistake and felt ashamed for not remembering the rules. Her mother then interjected to remind Dory, that sometimes we will make mistakes or things will happen in our lives, but we are not to give up but to keep on swimming.

Girlfriends, that same truth holds true today. During our life time we will make mistakes, things will happen to us that will not be our fault or we can't stop from happening, but God wants us to know that we don not have to hang our head in shame or guilt. God tells us in Prov. 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Even when a divorce comes your way and you didn't ask for it, if a child makes some bad decisions that puts them in a bad place, God sees it all.

Romans 8:28 tells us that we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God; those who are called according to His purpose. God watches over those who fear Him, those who rely on his unfailing love, Psalm 33:18. God wants us to seek His wisdom and guidance, as Psalm 32:8 tells us, "I will instruct you and show you the way to go; with My eye on you, I will give you counsel." God says that when we follow Him and seek His counsel, we are moving in the right direction, His word is a lamp for our feet, a light for our path. (Psalm 119:104-105)

Girlfriends, no matter what comes our way, we are to never give up, we are to just keep moving forward, living the best life we can under the direction of our God, and to never give up being who God created us to be and that is love, just like Jesus is love.

Let's Pray,

Father God, You are a good good father and You deserve the praise. Lord, there are many obstacles that come our way in this life, Lord but as we look to You for guidance, You will direct us and lead us to get around those obstacles in life. Giving up is not an option or we will never get to the destiny that You have for us. Lord, give us the strength to keep moving forward so that we will reach the destiny, the life of abundance that You have for us in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Be blessed and pass the blessings on.
