"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you." Matthew 5:44 TWEB

Good Morning Girlfriends:

When my youngest daughter and I were living in Nova Scotia, and she was attending the High School there, she had came home one day to tell me there was a girl at school that was being mean to her, she would make trouble for her, bullying her at times to get a reaction from her. As I listened to what she was telling me, the advice I had given her was to love her anyway, be kind to her anyway, give her a smile, say hi to her when she saw her in the hallway. I then explained why to her, because as I told her we do not know what she is going through at her home, we do not know what kind of home life she has and that could be what is making her to react the way she was. My daughter then explained to me that she was doing exactly that, she was trying to reach out to her in any way she could. As my daughter continued to do what she was doing, she was breaking through to the girl, it was making a difference in the other girl because my daughter was showing her kindness, and maybe it got her to thinking about the way she was acting.

In ministry I have also found that the same thing can happen, a person is working for the Lord and doing what He has called the person to do, and people will come against you or say some "not so nice things" to you or about you, but like it says in our key verse, we are to be kind to them, we are to love them, we are to do good to them, as well as pray for them. When someone is bullying another person or being cruel to that person, when they see our response that we give back love and kindness, that can eventually change the heart of that person who is being cruel. It will show them the nature of our heart and it may turn the light on to them , that they may want want we have because of what we are showing to them as our response to a situation. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." When we pray for that other person, we don't know what affects that it may have in their life, but whatever the case, we know that we are lifting them up in prayer and we know that God will bring only good out of it, because we go to the father in prayer.

James 5:16 teaches us to pray for others, and as we do, this is what happens, "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." Jesus also teaches us to pray in our quiet place and pray for people, close ourselves in with the Father, so we are not out praying like the hypocrites who are looking for accolades, so to say. If someone has hurt you this is a little prayer that you could pray...Lord I pray that they would turn to you for direction and forgiveness and let them see how much they have hurt me. Please give me eyes to see them the way that you see them, and give me a heart to forgive them. Lord give me patience while you work things out and show me and help me to be the loving Christian that you have called me to be."

Girlfriends, there is always going to be someone who will come against us in some way shape or form, if you have a hard time to pray for that person, find someone that can come along beside you to pray with you for that someone, because there is power in prayer and especially when there are two or more praying. I have also learned that when I say the Lord's Prayer each morning, as I start my day, it covers me for anything that may come my way in the run of the day. There are so many people walking around with hurt and anger inside of them that it shows on their face, when I see someone like that , I tend to quietly say a little prayer for them under my breath, because you never know what it may do down the road.

I believe that we are to never give up being kind and loving to one another, or to offer up a prayer to God when we see someone who is in need of one, God will finish what we offer to Him in prayer for that other person.

Let's Pray,

Father God, I thank you for this day, and that you have given us another day to hold someone up in prayer that may be going through a hard time. Lord, I pray for that one who is having a difficult time in their marriage and trying to figure out whether it is worth the effort to fight for it, Lord I pray that you would speak to that one today and let her know which way she is to go. Lord I pray for the one who has lost a loved one recently, that you would wrap your loving arms around them and that they would feel such a warmth around them and they would feel your presence. Lord, lay someone on each of our hearts to pray for today that may be in need of a little love and kindness and Lord let them feel a shift in their hearts that something is being changed in their life in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Be blessed my sweet girlfriends, be blessed.
