Let's Get Started

Behold I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 ESV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Going down through some old pictures that were on my phone, I decided to delete some of them to alleviate some storage space. It's always hard to decide which ones to get rid of, but seeing that there were several doubles, it made my choice a little simpler. Some of the pictures have been on there for years I would say, some being good memories and the ones that were not so wonderful, well, they got deleted.

It's been the same way with my closet, going through clothes that I have not worn for a while, clothes that just do not fit, and some that were too big, found themselves off the hangers and into a bag to be taken away. Now it will be time again to go through old papers, things that gathered on shelves that was pushed aside until a better time arose, I think now is a good time.

Weeding things out of our lives can be hard at times, but a job that is very rewarding when all is said and done. Sometimes we need to let many of the old things go, things that do not serve a purpose any more, and those things may come in handy for someone else. That is why many people have a big yard sale to get rid of stuff.

What about some people that are in our lives, that are really not the kind of people that we should have in our lives for one reason or another. Maybe they have been in our lives for a very long time or even just a short time, but they are not who you expected them to be. I heard this quote, and I don't remember who it was by, but it said "If the people you are around are not getting you closer to Jesus, then you don't need the in your life." That can really hit home, and another quote I just read today said, "Know those that are assigned to you and those that are attached to you. Those assigned to you are there to help you with your assignment and those attached to you are in it for themselves."

This is a true statement, and it should really get each and every one of thinking girlfriends. If there is someone who comes around and you notice them making little remarks that are not very nice, almost like a little jab, there could be a little jealousy going on. If stories get back to you about a certain situation, but you didn't say what that certain someone had told you, it's time to let some people go. If you know someone who is in your crowd and they are one way to you, but they are another way to other people, this may be a sign as well.

We are living in a time where the drama just has to go, if that so called friend is not helping, encouraging, lifting you up, it might be a time to do some cleaning out in this area as well. I believe God is looking for His true followers, His true worshippers, His true believers, people who are sold out to Jesus and are willing to listen and obey His voice. Maybe it's time for each and every one of us to do a little house cleaning, friendship cleaning, whatever needs to be done in order to get a closer walk with Jesus. Let's make a special point to sit down and have a little talk with Jesus and listen to what He may have to say to us. He tells us that He will make a way for us in the wilderness and He will make rivers in the desert.

Jesus also said that He is doing a new thing, who is up for a new thing? Even if you have just come through a hard trial, God is making a way for something new to happen, God always gives back, He will restore. (Joel 2:25) Maybe you are one that is still going through a struggle, Jesus is there for you as well, just put your trust in Him to see you through. It say in Genesis 1:1 in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, He did a new thing and He will do a new thing in your life, only believe. Let's get some things cleared out of our lives, so we can get started in a fresh new way, who's with me?

Father God, I praise You for Your faithfulness, I thank You for Your goodness, I thank You for a new day to give thanks to You. Lord, I lift up each person today, that has been in the wilderness for a very long time. Lord, I speak strength into their bodies and peace over their minds as they may have some serious decisions to make in different areas. Lord I pray that You would speak to them in what direction that person should take. Lord lead that person out of the wilderness and into Your glorious sunshine that is filled with peace. Lord I pray that You would do a new thing in their life to show them how much You love them and want to bless them in a new way and I thank You in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
