So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:48 KJV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

March 29, 2016, 4:45 Thursday morning, I was awoken in my dark room by the phone ringing on the night stand beside, confused of my surroundings I answered the phone. Not realizing what was fully going on, the voice on the other end was telling me that my husband had taken a spell and they had been working on him for a half hour, and she asked me if there was anything put in place. Still trying to register what was being said, I spoke out the words, "just keep working on him." Realizing that the voice was a nurse from the hospital, she knew I was only minutes from the hospital, she gently told me too take my time getting there.

Jumping right up and grabbing my coat and purse, I headed for the door to make my way back to the hospital. Still in my own thoughts as to what that conversation was all about, I quietly drove through the quiet and dark streets alone in total silence. As I drove through that quiet section, two deer came out in front of me and slowly walked across the street to the other side, at the time I had thought that was strange and was wondering if there was a meaning to that.

Arriving at the front door to the hospital, a nurse had met me at the doors as she gently led me to a quiet little room and she began to explain what had taken place, it was at that moment when the whole event began to open up before me, my husband was gone. The nurse had explained that they had worked on him continuously but to no avail they could not bring him back. The nurse explained to me to take my time to process everything and when I was ready she let me know the room in which he was laying. Not waiting too long, I walked down the hallway to where I saw him as I slipped into the room closing the door behind me.

Standing beside him, he looked like he was asleep, and the words he had once spoken to me had came to my memory. He had asked one time if I would ever cry over him and it was at that moment, I looked up toward heaven to let him know that I was.

Girlfriends, just like David that went right out to face Goliath, I arose and faced the death of my husband of six very short years. Learning that day that I would face many things alone, he had always taken care of the big things. I had to face contacting many people to cancel policies, I had to fill out many papers to prove of his death, I had to face eating alone, looking at the spot that he sat at the table and his chair that he slept in for a year as he was not able to lie down to sleep.

During our six years together, I was being taught many God given gifts through my husband that was being passed down to me to continue on with as I had to arise on my own as I began to be a witness to my children and many around me as I continued on the "roar" of my husband any time I pray for people.

Girlfriends, there may be times in our life that we are scared to stand up and try something new, but always remember, just like David was as a young boy who ran right out to meet Goliath, he did not back down to that giant, he came out boldly, and why, because he knew that the Lord was with him. He let Goliath know that he came in the name of the Lord, David had strength backing him all the way. Today God is still that same strength when we have to face something that is scary, a little intimidating, but we need to remember that God is with us, (Joshua 1:9) He is our rear guard, )Isaiah 52:12) God is our strength. (Exodus 15:2) There is nothing that we face that God is not with us, so if you are facing something today, come boldly and let out a roar knowing that God is with you and there is nothing that you can't face together, Amen?

Let's Pray,

Father God, I praise You, I lift up Your holy name and I thank You for a brand new day. Lord You are definitely where our strength comes from and there is nothing we can't face knowing that You are with us, the one who gives us strength to face whatever comes our way. Lord, I lift up those to You today that may be facing a giant in their life that looks so big to them, Lord I am speaking out instead of being scared and intimidated that they would be filled with courage and a fierceness and boldness to say to their giant, "You are going down because I come in the name of the Lord." Lord let each one feel Your mighty presence, so that can move and then stand boldly before anything that comes their way in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Be blessed dear ones and pass the blessings on in the name of the Lord.
