Let The Son Shine Through

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come; I have set my rainbow in the clouds; and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Genesis 9:12-15 NIV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

The sky was getting darker and darker as the dark clouds began to roll in that covered most of the sky, the wind began to pick up as it was carrying papers and plastic of some kind across the road. Talk had been going around of an ice storm that was coming, so my girls and I ran to dig out every kind of candle that we could fin, with matches right beside them. Scrummaging through drawers, we came across a couple small flashlights and placed them on the cupboard for a quick grab. Then a friend of mine had called and had said that she had filled a couple of buckets with water for the just in case, what a good idea I thought, as we filled three to sit in the bathroom for emergency use.

All was quiet except for the wind that was howling, and the tin on the roof rattled as the wind whistled underneath of it, the rain came down hard as it wasn't long before it had turned to freezing rain, that was when it began. As the day moved into the evening, we were hearing all kinds of reports of people in another part of the country that was without power, and of course it wasn't long before more and more cases had been reported of power outages. The freezing rain had come down so hard, and with the power from the great winds, the power lines were drooping as trees had been blown over on them, as well as from the weight from the ice.

A dear neighbor came to our home the next day with his generator and hooked it up so that we could charge our fridge and deep freeze, as we took advantage of his generosity, we cooked a little meal on the stove. We were very fortunate that we had a wood stove to keep us warm when our power went out, and we were blessed for this dear man that came to help us each day with his generator until the power in our area had been restored, it was eleven days later.

After the storm was over, the sky had cleared into its beautiful blue color with a rainbow that swept as far as your eye could see, birds began to quietly chirp as they were nestled in the trees close by, and the only thing that was left behind to even know that there had been a storm, was the broken off tress up and down the road with the heavy weight of the ice that was laying on the limbs and the sagging power lines.

Girlfriends, how many times have we came through a tremendous storm, and the whole time that we were in it we wondered if we were really going to make it through. Maybe you are that one who is deep in your walk with the Lord and each time you are faced with a storm, you just continue to praise your God because you know that He will take you through. Isaiah 43:2 tells us that "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze." That is an amazing promise to us from our God, He promises us this, when we need to take hold of it every time that we are faced with something, every time He will bring us through it. Think of this, If God brings you to something, He will bring you through that something, that storm you face, through is the word!

God is faithful, that He promises to bring us out of a storm, whether physical or spiritual, that is His promise to us and He will not go back on His word, never! Psalm 113:3 tells us, "From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised. So praise, praise praise your way through, because He has promised to bring you through. Psalm 19:6 says, "It's rising is from one end of the heavens, And its circuit to the other end of them; And there is nothing hidden from the heat." Is this now how we see a rainbow after a storm, spread wide from one side of the heaven to the other, it's so beautiful. The Lord also lets us know another promise from Himself to us in Numbers 6:25 where it says, "The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you."

God is so good to us girlfriends to bring us through the storms of life that make His face to shine on us, so why not share to others what God has done for us, be a testimony to give others a peace and a hope that He will also bring them through their situation as well, God is no respecter of people in who He helps bring through, He gives each one the chance to believe and trust in Him, so why wouldn't we want to serve a God like that who loves us more than we will ever know, why not follow Him, and if you have never asked Him into your heart, He's right there waiting to become your Savior as well.

Father God, I praise You and I honor You as my Lord and Savior. Lord I thank You for each storm in life that You bring us through, we become stronger and stronger in our faith and trust in You, as we realize that You are always with us during each trial, each storm and You will be right by our side as we walk through it together, in the mighty name of Jesus I thank You, Amen.
