Living A Double Life Part One

I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. Nevertheless, I have this one thing against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By teaching, she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. Revelation 2:19-20 NIV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

First of all I would like to give thanks to the Lord for giving me this word that I am about to bring out in the best way that I can, so that it will be an enlightenment to you. I would like to share twenty-five traits of a Jezebel spirit with you, so that your eyes may be enlightened.

The name Jezebel in Hebrew is spelled as "LYZEBEL" and it means "Baal exalts, unhusbanded one, without cohabitation and unchaste." This spirit hates authority, despises correction, hates being subjected and loves attention. In many cases Jezebel is referred to as a "she, but Jezebel is genderless and can operate in both men and women, with or without their knowledge.

Jezebel is a territorial (principality) spirit that does no inhabit a body, which Ephesians 6:12 where it talks about spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms and Jezebel is one of those spirits to bring destruction to God's people. Jezebels agenda is more than just a ungodly control and manipulation. Let me share these traits of this spirit with you.

* This spirit especially hates men of God who are faithfully doing the work of God. She comes to pollute and quench the flow of the Holy Spirit. If you are in ministry or you are anointed and not yet married, it is very important that you walk in the gift of discernment. The devil will try to pair you up with a Jezebel partner to invade your anointing, your calling and influence. This spirit can find a way to work through jealousy, pride, envy or hatred.

* When a leader who is in ministry, who has a Jezebel spirit, due to a lack of God's word will twist scripture, manipulate the congregation, direct worship to themselves instead of God.

* Jezebel hates men and women who are over her position. She will do just about anything to get in that higher position especially those who speak the truth or have a genuine pure heart. Jezebel hates truth and those who speak it and seeks to destroy those who speak it, especially if it exposes her ways and motives.

* A Jezebel spirit in a woman will not submit to a man. If she does, she will pretend in order to gain ground or favors, it will be conditional. Some wives who allow this spirit to entice them will only submit to their husband when it is beneficial to them. This is called rebellion in the marriage bed. Submission is powerful and it brings in God's blessings but the enemy lies to some wives enticing them to operate in a Jezebel manner.

* A person with a Jezebel spirit may look innocent and may be known to be very helpful and friendly, but he/she is deceitful, cunning and subtle; more likely to gain ground and favor for his/her own selfish ambitions. Jezebel is only helping today to gain the upper hand tomorrow.

* Those with a Jezebel spirit longs to be praised and adored, (like a god) that is why they will put themselves in a high place to be worshipped. If a church is being run by a leader with a Jezebel spirit, that leader will be worshipped by the congregation and he/she will encourage it, usually through manipulation, this is the opposite of being humble, and this person will be walking in danger.

* A Jezebel will never forget when he/she is wronged because they struggle to forgive. He/she will not be at peace until the find revenge, they will wait for years to obtain it. A Jezebel is capable of destroying your life or even killing you. Look at the Pharisees, they didn't like Jesus' teachings and they eventually plotted to have Him killed.

* A Jezebel is secretive, compulsive and stalks those she/he envies, finding out every little piece of information about those she/he hates or is jealous of, to the point to use it as a plot against the person. Jezebels are demonically intelligent and will hold onto the information for years before using it against the person.

* A Jezebel has no real identity of their own, no real gifts or talents. They are like a leech and feed off of others by stealing ideas to make it look like it is their own. If a gifted or talented person has a Jezebel as a friend, that person will suffer, Jezebel will act like a friend, but he/she is an enemy seeking to sabotage those gifts.

* A Jezebel will volunteer to do many things within the church ministry, not that they want to but to make it look like they are helping for recognition and admiration. People in leadership should be fasting and praying about who they put in certain places of ministry, when they do they will discern this spirit.

* The Jezebel has no real close friends because he/she is not genuine, trustful, or faithful. He/she knows they can't get too close to anyone or they will be exposed.

*Anyone who is under Jezebel in the workplace or ministry or in family dynamics, will tend to fear him/her because a Jezebel is in power, he/she has is in authority and uses it in a threatening way. He/she will make you believe that you need him/her and you won't be able to make it without their help. This is a lie from the pit of hell.

*A jezebel thinks that he/she can have any man/woman they want, even if the person is already with someone. The Jezebel finds it as a thrill to destroy a relationship and feels powerful knowing that another woman's man or another man's woman is giving them attention. A jezebel that works in a woman doesn't care if he's your boyfriend or husband and vise versa. He/she does not respect your relationship or you and will do whatever they can to destroy your relationship or marriage.

* He/she is the opposite of everything that 1 Cor. 4-8 says about Love. A Jezebel shows off, is impatient, proud, rude, selfish, provoking, thinks of evil, rejoices in sin, unbearable, unbelieving and unendurable. However, it take a person who is always in the word to discern this because these actions will be subtle and unnoticeable.

Girlfriends, these are just some of the attributes or characteristics to look for in a person who make be working with this spirit. I have seen it several times in my life as a friend, as a partner in marriage, so we have to be very careful and discerning about who we let in our lives. If you begin to see this in a friendship, then beware and be cautious, go to God and ask Him if this friendship should go on or if it should be shut down, before anything serious happens or is used against you in a harmful way. These relationships will only lead to more hurt and destruction, so we wise and have your eyes and ears open at all times about the conversations that is at hand.

Father God, I thank you for wisdom, I thank you for discernment, and I thank you for the knowledge that is out there so that we can be on alert for these types of spirits that are not of you. Lord, I pray that if anyone is operating in any way under the influence of this spirit, that they would repent today and ask for forgiveness and turn from it and that they would make things right with you in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
