"For this is how God so loved the world; He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." NLT
Good Morning Girlfriends:
For weeks now the stores isles have been packed full of everything you can think of to buy for that "Special Love" that's in your life, a child or grandchild and even a best friend. Pink, purple and red items fill the isles and not to mention all of the things at the craft store so one can decorate to make it a memorable day.
Men will purchase beautiful flowers and chocolates for their sweetheart or maybe even a nice little trinket (a piece of jewelry) from the jewelry store, a date with each other as they have a nice meal out at the restaurant as they spend quality time together. In some homes, decorations are being put up as pink, purple and red covers the eating area, flowers on the table with matching napkins beside the china dishes that displays the table setting. and don't forget about the fancy drinking goblets to finish off the setting. A favorite meal is prepared for the whole family with a special desert to top it off, as chatter and laughter fills the room.
This is what man calls "Valentines Day," as we celebrate it by showing our love for one another. I kind of chuckle as I write this because just because this day is marked on the calendar, and we celebrate it, I believe that Valentines Day or "Love Day" as we could call it, should be every day, and it should be our every day way of living. God's word tells us in John 15:12, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you." Corinthians 16:14 tells us to do everything in love, 1 Peter 4:8 says, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins.
It is true that love starts in the home, but that is how the "Love of God" in us gets spread, is by taking it out into the world to show others around us His great love. Many times love can be showed in a simple gesture such as a smile to someone you pass on the sidewalk, taking the family down the street who have a new baby, a hot cooked meal, knowing that the mom is busy trying to get a new routine in place. Love can be showed by helping that struggling mom get the groceries in the car as her children are running around. How about calling a friend or family member that may be having a hard time, being that listening ear. Purchasing that special little treat for someone that you know would like it. How about opening the door for an older lady, as she walks into the store, that doesn't happen as often as it should.
Love can be displayed in many different ways, let each one of us take the time and think of something that we could do for another person, that would display God's Love, because love is more than just words, it is an action. Let's put love into action, not only just today but every day, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for another day to express my love for You as my heavenly father. You are the reason that I am here, You created me and breathed life into me. Lord I lift up to You, that sweet person who may not have a spouse who will adorn her with love today, so I'm asking that You would send someone her way to lavish on her to make her feel special. Lord I am asking that You, Lord would go to the homeless and let them feel Your precious love, let them feel Your presence and Your love all around them. Let them have a divine encounter with You today in the mighty name of Jesus, so that Your love will grow in their hearts as they will continue to feel Your warmth in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones and pass the blessings on in love.
