-I will go home to my father and say, "Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired man." So he returned home to his father. And while he was a long distance away, his father saw him coming, and was filled with loving pity and ran and embraced him and kissed him. Luke 15:18-20 The Living Bible.
Good Morning Girlfriends:
I don't know how each one of you started out in life when you decided it was time to spread your wings and fly out of your parents house, and for some it could have been so many years ago its hard to remember, but I remember how it went when I had decided to leave the nest. I had been dating a young man for about a year and a half or so during my last year of high school, and we had talked about the idea of marriage but wasn't sure if it could be a reality, as I was only seventeen at the time and not quite through high school, but my boyfriend decided to ask my dad for my hand in marriage anyway because he was very serious about it.
At that time, my father thought that I was too young and was not too sure about the question that he was asked, he thought that we should wait. Later when my boyfriend had shared with me the discussion that he with my father, I had went to my mother telling her that we would wait until I was eighteen and then we would still marry. My mother then took it upon herself to go to my father explaining that we would go ahead with the wedding after my birthday, she shared with him that it would be winter and too cold for a wedding, why not let them have it in the summer after graduation, since we were determined to be married anyway. In my mind I had thought everything was going to be wonderful and great to be out on my own in my own place to be able to do my own thing, but I was a little surprised when it wasn't quite that way at all.
Just like the younger brother who wanted his inheritance and get out into the world to experience life in whatever it looked like. As he packed up his belongings, he took off to another land and wasted all of his money on partying, and he blew it on prostitutes until it was all squandered away. Then when a famine came into the land he had no money left to buy food and he had no place of his own to lay his head, so he had asked a local farmer to hire him to feed his pigs. He became very hungry as there was no one who helped him or gave him food to eat, he was destitute and desperate and wondering if there was any way out of his dilemma. After much though, he decided to go back home when he realized that it wasn't as bad after all living at home. He realized that he had a roof over his head, he had food to eat when he was hungry and he had a father who loved him, and all of that looked better than where he was at that moment.
I wanted to share the words to a song called "Loving My Jesus," and the lyrics to this song is just about everyone's testimony.
I was a wandering soul traveling a well worn road, A sinner so far from home, no second chance in sight, I heard you call my name, I felt you lift my shame, And I made a vow that day that I'd spend the rest of my life Chorus: Loving my Jesus, showing my scars, telling my story of how mercy can reach you where you are, And I pray the whole world hears the cry of my heart is to see all the ones I love loving my Jesus.. Sin tries to make you hide, whispers that same old lie, keep all your pain inside, cause no will understand. The last thing this lost world needs is someone I'm trying to be, truth that has set me free, Is that I'm just a broken man loving my Jesus. When all is said and done, when my last song's been sung, I stand face to face with the one who gave all for me, may all i have to show be all that mattered most, making Your great name known, let this be my only legacy loving my Jesus, showing my scars.
Girlfriends, even when we go out into the world doing our own thing, living our life in the way that we think we want to, sometimes we get ourselves into a mess and find ourselves in the pigpen of life and far away from God just like the prodigal son did when he left his fathers house. It is when we come to the end of ourselves and realize that we need God, our father in our life and that He is always there when we come to the end of ourselves and He always was right along with us all the time, we just maybe didn't know it. No matter the mess, no matter how big or how small we make it, God our heavenly father is always standing there with His arms wide open, welcoming His sons and His daughters back home.
Maybe you are that prodigal daughter who needs to come back home to the heavenly father, maybe you have been thinking you have made too much of a mess of things and you don't deserve another chance, but God would have you to know that everyone gets another chance and the thing of it is, many people have had more than one, two or even three chances but at least they keep coming back to the father as they repent and make it right with Him, He loves us girlfriends, He loves us more than we can comprehend and there are no strings attached, His love is not like any human love it's unconditional. So if you are that prodigal who needs to make things right with your earthly father today is the day and if you need to make things right with your heavenly father then today is the day as well, there's no need to put it off any longer, run home to Jesus, He has been waiting for you.
Let's Pray,
Father God, I thank you Lord that no matter how much I had made a mess of my life, You were always there to welcome me into Your arms, no matter my mistakes no matter how many times that I didn't get it right, You were always there. Lord, I lift up every one to you that may have gone their own way into the world without you. Lord, I declare that the moment they come running back to You they will feel the love of the father like never before. Lord, I lift up the ones to You that have never asked You into their hearts yet, that You know who they are and I'm asking that You would give them a visitation and that they would feel Your presence in the room, and that Your heavenly love would fill them up to over flowing as they surrender their life over to You in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones be blessed and pass the blessings on each day.
