Making Things Right

Then Samson prayed to the Lord and said, "O Lord Jehovah, remember me again-please strengthen me one more time, so that I may pay back the Philistines for the loss of at least one of my eyes." Judges 17:28 New Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Over and over I have watched the movie "Samson," as this true event was brought to life in living color from the pages of the Bible. Each time I have watched the movie, I always marvel at how the power of God is portrayed, as God's anointing, His power comes upon Samson when he fought the lion with his bare hands as well as the times Samson fought the Philistines.

Right from the very start of Samson's life, he was called and anointed of God, and God's plan for Samson was to be God's hand of vengeance against the Philistines who were always after and controlling God's people by keeping them in poverty and bondage. Like many of us, Samson did not want to do God's will, he wanted go about doing his own thing in life, playing around, getting into mischief as he was usually chasing after women.

When Delilah comes on the scene, ( Delilah meaning delicate, or weaken) Samson falls for her beauty, not realizing what her plan was for him, but in a weak moment Samson fell for the beautiful Delilah. She asked Samson three different times how he got his strength, not wanting to let out his secret, Samson tricked her. By the third time Delilah asked, Samson gave in and revealed the secret, not realizing that he was being deceived by her. When his secret was known, God's anointing had left him, and he was blinded by the soldiers who had captured him.

Girlfriends, we too can go through life wanting to do our thing, making our own decisions, our own plans, living a life that we think is the best one for us at the time. We can get led off track, led astray so easy if we are not paying attention, that can lead us down a very dark road of misery and despair and heartache. Wrong decisions, wrong choices will only lead to destruction before all is said and done, just like it did for Samson.

Samson lived his whole life doing his own thing, making bad decisions one after another until it brought him to the place of being physically blind. It was not until the end of his life that he finally became spiritually awakened to the plan that God had for him. It wasn't until the end of Samson's life, that he had made it right with God. That is when Samson called upon God one last time for God's strength to come upon him so that he could take out all of the Philistines that was in the city that day that it all came down.

Girlfriends, if there is someone that we need to make amends with, why wait until it's too late. If there are things that we have done in our lives that have been against God, why wait until the end like Samson did, to make things right with God. Today is a new day to make the right decision to get on the right track with God so that we do not have to live such a disastrous life. Sometimes we get it in our head that we will miss out on great things when we give our life over to the Lord, but that is nothing farther from the truth. The longer the enemy can keep us in the dark of that mind set, then the deeper he can drag us into the pit of misery, unhappiness, torment, frustration, sickness.

Today is the day to make the decision to swing things around in order to get on the right path so that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Jesus is the light, He is the one who can make everything right, it just takes us to move towards Him, so that we can see things in a truly new light, Amen?

Father God, I bless Your holy name and I give You praise. Lord, I thank You for that day when I called upon You to take over my life, that I began to see things in a much brighter and in a new way. Lord, I lift up that one to You today, that has been taken down that dark path, Lord I pray that they would call out to You today as they make the decision to make things right with the heavenly father. Lord, You love us with an everlasting love, and You are always ready to receive us into Your open arms. Lord, I pray that today that sweet person turns their life around to serve You, so that they will no longer be walking ion darkness, in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
