May I Cut In

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. Genesis 2:24 ESV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Back in the day of the black and white movies was a wonderful time, especially when couples would be ballroom dancing around a huge, elegant room with big windows covered with big expensive drapery, the floor would be shiny as glass, crystal chandeliers hung from the ceilings and everyone would be dressed in their finest attire. The men were usually in black, pressed tuxedos with a flower pinned to their lapel or a silk scarf in the little pocket of the tux, and the women would be dressed in bright colored ball gowns, lace, silks and ruffles that flowed to the floor as the big round hoops under the dress of crinoline "poofed" it out.

In some of these older movies, the couples would be dancing around the ballroom and another gentlemen would come along beside a couple and ask if he could "cut in," meaning, could he dance with the girl, then the first man would step back and the ladies new partner would cascade her around the ballroom until the next gentlemen would ask if he could cut in, and this would take place all evening long, it was a beautiful evening of dancing in beautiful attire under sparling crystal chandeliers, I can only imagine. This is the era I always wished I lived in, the big beautiful ball gowns and the bigger the better.

But what do you do girlfriends when your partner in life decides to back out of the dance called "marriage" and you are left standing on the dance floor all alone. This is a heartbreaking thought, but as we all know sometimes this happens, and there are times that we are the ones left to pick up all the pieces, broken pieces that is. Just to reassure you, that if you have experienced this or are experiencing this right now, just like in the movies when the other gentlemen had come along and asked if he could cut in, that is exactly what Jesus wants to do with us, He wants to be our dance partner for awhile. Jesus will come along and pick up all of the broken pieces of life as He cascades us around the dance floor in His arms as He loves on us and caresses our hearts to let us know everything is going to be okay.

Life can throw some curve balls at times, but I'm so glad that I know a man that will be my dance partner at any time. Have you danced with Jesus, I'm serious, when I am in my time of worship at home, I find myself dancing around the kitchen or living room, waltzing around in His presence as I draw closer to His heart, to feel Him and to know Him in a deeper way. Whether we have a partner in life or not, Jesus would still love to be our partner in our every day life. He is the one who tells us in His word that we are the apple of God's eye found in Psalm 17:8, Gen. 1:27 says that we are created in God's own image and we are beautiful in His eyes. Matthew 5:8-12 tells us that we are blessed in many ways, He also tells us that we are precious in God's sight found in John20:31.

Girlfriends, man will fail us at times but God's promise and truth to us is that He never fails found in Joshua 21:45. Jesus has been my dance partner in life for many years and He has never let me down. When I have had dance partners back out of the dance, Jesus has always been there to sweep me off of my feet, now that's a God I love to serve and He is there for you to, won't you let Him cut in?

Let's Pray,

Precious Jesus, I lift up each person who is in need of a new dance partner. Lord as each one let's You cut in, I pray that they would feel the warmth of your arms around them and that they would feel Your warmth as You tell them they are loved, let the warmth cover their heart as you heal each and every hurt, crumbled and broken place. Lord I speak a quick healing over each one in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Be blessed sweet ones and pass the blessings on.
