It is your own face that you see reflected in the water and it is your own self that you see in your heart. Prov. 27:19 Good News Translation

A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses. Prov. 27;19 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

In the movie "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," there was an evil queen who would go to her mirror each day to ask it "who is the fairest in the land?" and each day the mirror would reply, "You are my Queen." Another day like any other day, the Queen went to the mirror and asked the same question, but the reply was different this time and not one that the queen had expected, as it's reply was "Snow White is the fairest in the land."

The Queen then became enraged with anger and jealousy, as she had called for the huntsman to take snow white out into the woods and kill her. The queen could not bear that anyone could be found fairer than her. Later on when the Queen had found out that the huntsman did not kill snow white, the Queen then devised a plan to poison her with an apple. Finding out where snow white was living, the Queen had disguised herself as an old lady who was giving out apples. When the Queen had found the little cottage in the woods, where snow white was living, the Queen knocked on the door waiting for the door to open.

Snow white opened the door, not expecting to see an old lady standing there with a basket of beautiful apples, she thought it was the dwarfs coming home from work. The old lady struck up a conversation with snow white, offering her to try one of her red delicious apples, and the moment snow white took one bite of the apple, she fell to the floor.

Girlfriends, this is a simple scenario or example of what we can look like when we look in the mirror if we have jealousy in our heart towards someone. We can become so bitter and angry towards that other person from jealousy, that we could seek out to destroy that person spiritually. Mark 7:21-22 says, "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornication, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness."

Think about this...when someone you knows builds a new house, has an inheritance given to them, are you happy for them or do you feel jealous, wishing that it was you that had these things. The dictionary describes the word "fairer" as being of pleasing appearance, especially because of a pure or fresh quality, comely, light in color. When you look in the mirror at yourself, what do you see, who do you see looking back at you, what does your heart look like? These are just a few questions for each of us to ask ourselves, to do a heart check to make sure that we are looking and living the way that God would have us to do.

I used to have a sticky note on my bath room mirror that said these scriptures...You are loved (John 3:16), You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14), You are precious (Isaiah 43:4), You are blessed (Deut. 28), You are a child of God (Psalm 82:6), You are righteous (1 John 2:29). There are plenty of other scriptures that can be added to this list, but these are just a few that you can start with. Put these verses on a sticky note, and put it on a mirror so that you can see it each day and begin to speak God's word over yourself every day.

Make a point to read 1 Cor. 13, the love chapter as well as read James 3:14-15, these scriptures will describe the difference between having love in your heart or evil. I love this verse Philippians 4:8 that says, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Here's a thought, what if the mirror had told the queen that she needed to do five things, to make some changes within herself in order to be the fairest in the land, do you think she would have done it? What about us, when we look into the mirror, are we willing to make some changes if there are some to be made? In the end do we want to wind up being the like the nasty, evil Queen or do we want to be more like Snow White, who was a sweet, kind, loving and gentle, and a joyful soul.

So, the next time you look into the mirror, lean in real close and take a good hard look at yourself and see what you really see about yourself, do you love yourself and see a beautiful heart and spirit, or are there a few little things that need tweaked, only you know the answer.

Let's Pray,

Father God, Lord, I thank you and I praise you. Lord, thank you for making me in the image of Yourself. Lord, I lift up each sweet soul to you today, who may be realizing that "yes" there may be a little tweaking that needs to be done within themselves. Lord, give them the grace to come before you and ask you to help them to make those changes, so that the next time they look into the mirror, they will see a beautiful reflection of You, in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Be blessed and pass the blessings on. Thank you for passing this message on.
