What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us.
Romans 8:31 NKJV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Fall is a wonderful time of the year, not only for the beautiful change in the weather and the beautiful fall colors, but for the wonderful fresh vegetables that comes from a garden. This past fall I was given so many cucumbers that I didn't know what to do with them all, so I decided to bag some up and hand them out to people that I know. Everyone was so grateful to receive them because some wanted to make pickles with them, others just wanted them to eat.
A friend of mine brought me even more cucumbers than I already had, so I decided to pass them out to close by families. As we walked up the long driveway to the house of the man who has been friends of our family for many years, I could hear him talking but could not see him so I hollared to him asking if he wanted the bag of cucumbers. He stuck his head out of the upstairs door and told us just sit them on his doorstep as he thanked us for them. Only making it halfway down the driveway, the lady that was in the house yelled back to us to take them back, she didn't want our help and that we were not any friends of hers. Stunned at her response, my friend and I just looked at each other for a moment, and then we told her we would take them back. My friend blessed her by saying have a wonderful day.
As we all know, not all people appreciate when we do something kind for them, they do not receive it in the same way. God's word does tell us to love our enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that is found in Matthew 5:44. Sometimes it may not seem like a very easy task to do, but I have always found when I pray for someone like that, my heart begins to go out to them wondering what has happened in their life that would make them respond in such a way.
Girlfriends, not everyone will be for us, they may seem to be for a time but then their true colors will seep out. There may be times that we might not like a certain too much yet God also tells us to "love our neighbors as ourselves," teaches us not to act by our feelings towards that person but to bless them. (Mark 12:31) Again, to pray for someone who may be hard to pray for, it releases us from acting in a wrong way and you never know what that prayer just might do for that person, it could turn things around. Jesus loves everyone no matter how a person is, and if we are moving towards being more Christ like we will do our best to do the same, even when someone seems unloveable, praying for them could soften their heart and melt off whatever hardness is there. That is why Jesus says if we hate our enemies, we have no way to redeem and transform them, (Matt. 5:43-48)
Let this be the Christmas season to pray for the people who are hurting because of sickness or because of the loss of a loved one. Let each of us pray in a greater way then ever before so that we might make a difference and win them to the Lord. What a mighty Christmas miracle that would be. God is still on the throne and He is still in the miracle working business, it just takes people like you and me to make things happen so a change may take place, Amen.
Let's Pray,
Father God, I thank you that You love each and every one of us, no matter of our flaws, our backgrounds, our dispositions, You love us. Lord, I pray for a stronger desire to pray for those people that may be hard to pray for. Lord give us a love like yours that we would see them as you do in order to pray with exuberance that will make a difference. Lord, there are many hurting people right now, so I lift them up to you that You would give them a special touch right where they are at, and that each person would feel your mighty presence in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed sweet ones and pass on the blessing to others you know, which just might be a prayer.
