Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. Luke 12:33-34 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
It is coming to that time again, where we are preparing for another baby shower. A list of food to prepare, a list of guest to be invited, a list of games to play. This one game has been passed down throughout the years, gathering up ten to twelve small baby items, laying it on a tray, covering them up with a towel and when ready the tray would be passed around to each guest, as they would study the items in order to write each item down on paper, to see who could remember all of them.
Another game that was played as children, was the listening game, or some called it the telephone game, where children sat in a circle, a phrase was whispered into the ear of the first person, and each person was to pass on the phrase in which they had heard, this was help them to sharpen their listening skills. Board games have been passed on from generation to generation such as monopoly, scrabble, yahtzee and trouble. Who remembers the game "red rover red rover," ring around the rosies, hopscotch, nursery rhymes have been passed on from many generations.
When my husband and I had moved back to New Brunswick from Nova Scotia, we had purchased a small economical car for the time being, but when I was approached with a full time job and had been working for awhile, we were able to pass the little car onto my daughter who had just received her drivers license. What a blessing that was for her, but also for us that we were able to do it, so it would help her get back and forth to work.
Girlfriends, I have seen many things being passed on to others throughout my lifetime so far, even from my own family household. This family has passed on material items to help different families who had experienced a house fire and was in need. Groceries have been passed on to help someone get through a hard time, as well as money at certain times. This is what the kingdom of God is all about, is by helping and loving one another. Good healthy and moral values have been passed on through my family, as well as some family traditions, family time as we gather together on special occasions.
Lessons learned from making bad choices have been passed on, discussions on right and wrong behavior has been passed on to help open the eyes in certain situations. Certain behaviors have been passed on, or as it is known to be called as "generational curses," that has had to be prayed over and broken off. Many prayers has been passed on through the doors of this home, as friends, new friends, family have come and were in need of prayer. God's word is passed on daily from my home as well as His promises, whether it's over the phone, people I meet in the area, but mostly from sitting right here at my kitchen table, God's precious word is being passed on.
God would have me to pass on these words, by me telling you today, that He loves you sweet girlfriend, He loves you and He died for you. John 3:16 says, "That God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever should believe in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life." That is just one of His many promises to you, if you have never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. This is a very important matter that has to be passed on, to be shared with you. "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
There are so many wonderful people in the world, giving people, trustworthy people, loving and kind people, but if they never accept Jesus into their heart in order to make heaven their home, what will it profit them? That is why I love to share the love of Jesus (Romans 13:8-10) with others as I am passing on what He can do for them, the same as He has done for me and many like me who has been serving Him their whole life, because they too want to make heaven their home. (John 14:16, John 14:2, Phil. 3:20,)
Listen to this scripture, Romans 14:8 is so powerful, "For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's." What a great and wonderful promise that is to those who has excepted Jesus as their Savior, we are the Lord's and we will have a place with Him as He tells us in John 14:2 that He has prepared a place for us.
For those of you who have given your hearts to the Lord, pass on what you know to other's who have not yet done so, and pass on His promises of what He will do for them. For those of you who have not yet excepted Jesus as your Savior, and you would like to do that today, let me reassure you that this will be the most important and wonderful day of your life for making this decision for your eternal life that is to come, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Father God, I lift up your holy name, the name of Jesus. If it were not for you, dying on the cross, and giving us the sweet gift of salvation, where would we be, certainly it would not be with you. So Lord, I lift up each and every one who would want to surrender their life to you today, that they would follow this prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe that God sent you to die on the cross as a sacrifice for me. I believe that you are the one and true living God that loves me and forgives me of my sins. I ask right now that you would forgive me of my sins, wash me clean with your precious blood and come into my heart and live in me, so that I can live for you and be assured to have a place in heaven with you for all eternity in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen. Lord, for each one who gave their heart to you today, I speak a special blessing over them and their household that the favor of the Lord will always be upon them and from this day on they will never be in want for you are supplying their every need and want in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends, and pass on the blessings of Jesus Christ. Thank you passing this message on.
