"Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed." Proverbs 3:16-18 NIV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
How can I ever forget, my days were full being a teacher at the daycare, a nurse to my husband who was sick, a mother to my youngest daughter who was still at home, and a woman who cleaned and looked after the home. For over a year my days were filled with running back and forth to Doctors appointments, as they tried to get my husbands medication regulated to help him in a better way. Each morning I arose early to get myself ready for work, I would have to do a home dialysis exchange on my husband, get his breakfast made, check his blood pressure, check his weight to keep all of the recordings on paper for the Doctors, make sure my daughter was on the bus, and out the door I would go to work.
At lunch time I would head home to make my husband his lunch, another dialysis exchange would have to be done, and back to work I would go for the remaining of the day as I worked with the small children in the nursery. Come the end of the work day, I would travel home to do yet another home dialysis, prepare supper, then I may throw in a load of laundry and only to turn around to give my husband one last dialysis exchange before bed. The weekend could be a little bit of a treat if there was a friend that would stop by to sit with my husband, I could go with a friend of mine just to fly to the grocery store and to do a little shopping, it didn't happen very often. These were hard times and full days for well over a year.
It wasn't until some time after my husband had passed away, that one of the mother's to the child that was in my classroom, had said that she would have known that I was going through all of that because I had never shown any signs that things were so hectic and traumatic.
Girlfriends, I cannot say that this was an easy time in my life for sure, but I can say that I definitely had the strength of God working with me and I had the peace of God within me that took me through this very strenuous time in my life. John 14:27 says to us, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let them be afraid." Each morning I thanked God for His strength to take me through each new day, and when I laid my head down at night, I again thanked Him for the strength to get through yet another day. I had the peace that Philippians 4:7 talks about which it says, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Girlfriends, I do not know what you may be going through right now, but I do know that you can walk through your journey with the peace of God in your heart that surpasses all understanding, by taking one day at a time as you look to Him every day, thanking Him and praising Him, that He is the one who is walking right along side of you to take you through to the other end of your situation. God is our strength, He is our peace when we put our trust in Him. We do not know all of the things we may have to go through, but we do have the promise from God that He is going through it with us and He is everything that we will ever need in our journey.
That morning when I talked to that mom in my classroom, I was being a witness to her as I shared that it was the strength of God and only God who took me through that time in my life. I shared with her that I didn't know what the outcome was going to be, but I had put my trust in God that He had it all under control, so I didn't have to worry, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Father God, I thank You each day for another day that I have breath. Lord, I thank You that I am able to share my testimonies of how You have been there with me through many trials. Lord I lift up each dear one today to You, who is going through a difficult time, Lord may they look to You, the God that is like no other, to know that You are there to walk them through their situation as well. God You are no respecter of people, and what You have done for me, You will do for these dear ones as well. I give You all of the praise and thanks in advance for the answers to these dear ones prayers to take them through to the other side of their trial in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Be blessed, and be sure to pass the blessings on.
