He said, "Come!" And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. Matthew 14:29 Amplified

Good Morning Girlfriends:

As I start my day, each morning I like to say good morning to Jesus, I guess it's because He is the one who woke me up, so I like to acknowledge Him first before I continue on my day.

As I think back on the many excursions my friend and I have been on, I can't help but laugh to myself because some of the things that would happen, we would just shake our heads, you had to be there. This was in the day when we would have to hook up the GPS inside the vehicle, and you would type in the address to whatever the destination was that you wanted to go. Hey, who would have known that they would come up with the idea to install them into the vehicles. In most cases when we headed out for a road trip, of course they would be shopping trips, is there any other kind? Sometimes putting the two of us together might not have been the best idea, but away we would go, as I usually was the one who drove and my friend was the co-pilot. There would be countless times the GPS, which I called "Sally," would call out, Re-Routing, Re-Routing, because what looked to be the right way ended up being a wrong turn. Sometimes those arrows and twists and turns can be very deceiving.

My friend and I would discuss the way we were being re-routed, and at times it would look like we were going in a totally different direction, but what did we know, we weren't the navigator but we eventually would end up at our destination so we could begin our day of shopping.

As I'm thinking about it, can you imagine how much of our trust we put into these machines to take us to places, that maybe we have never been before, and we rely on it to get us to wherever it is we're going.

Girlfriends, now we can have a better understanding of how Peter felt when Jesus called him to come to Him. Peter was in the boat with the other disciples, heading in the direction that they were going, when they saw Jesus on the water, not sure if it was a ghost or if it was a real person. Just as we put our faith and trust in the GPS to take us to our destination, Peter as well had to trust and faith in Jesus that he would be able to make his destination, which was walking to Jesus.

How many times have our own lives been re-routed, re-routed from a divorce or maybe divorces. How many lives have been re-routed from an unexpected passing of a spouse or even a child, maybe you were re-routed because you had a housefire that took everything and left you homeless, or maybe you have had a spouse who decided they were going to walk in a different direction and it didn't include you, and maybe you've been stranded on the side of the road of life. There are many ways each of our lives have been re-routed and in a lot of the case we didn't even expect it, Jesus wants us to know, that when we put our faith and trust in Him, He will re-route us in the right direction because He has a plan for each and every one of our lives. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that, we may not know totally what that plan may look like but when Jesus is involved it can't be anything but good. He is a good good father who will look after us, and guide and direct us on the right path.

Maybe you have been on a wrong road or going in a wrong direction as you've been hearing the words re-route re-route, and that has been Jesus calling your name to come to Him and to follow Him. Maybe there are some of you whom God is re-routing because He is calling you in another direction, a higher place in Him, a deeper place and it may look a little different than the average. As God bids us to come, we must put our full trust in Him and come no matter what that looks like. I believe God is calling many to a higher place, a different place then where you are at right now. As we put our faith and trust in Jesus together, let's get out of that boat, and walk on the water as we follow Him to wherever it is He wants to take us, it's going to be tremendous.

Let's Pray,

Father God, Life is hard at times when we get re-routed and didn't see it coming, Lord I pray for those that need healing in their heart from this tragedy, Lord I ask that you would erase all of the pain, disappointment as they allow you to re-route them because you have something wonderful for their life. Lord help each one of us to keep our focus on you totally as you take us to those new places, deeper places, help us to always listen to your voice when you call out our name as you speak what direction to take. Lord I know you have a great plan for each and every one of lives and we will not be disappointed as we take your hand to guide us along in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Be blessed, and pass the blessings on to others, as you enjoy your day.
