Reaching For The Stars

And those who are wise--the people of God--shall shine as brightly as the sun's brilliance, and those who turn many to righteousness will glitter like stars forever. Daneil 12:3 The Living Bible

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Coming home from work one day, and walking through the front door, I was not expecting to see a man and his wife sitting at the kitchen table with my husband. As I approached the table, I was greeted by the man with "There's sunshine now," as we exchanged names and I was being informed to why they were sitting in my kitchen.

My husband had bought and transport truck, and this man was going to be driving it, and they were going over some details for his first trip out. The driver of the truck had only been out on the road for three days, when my husband had passed away, so needless to say the trucking company did not last too long after that, before shutting it down.

When another man had come into my life, he would tell me that every time I would come to visit him at his parents place, he would find all kinds of sequins on the floor and little pieces of glitter where ever I had walked or had been sitting. It wasn't until after a few visits of the same thing happening, finding sequins and glitter, that is when I received the nickname "Anointed Sequin." It was said many times that when I entered a room everything seemed to light up. I know I always wore bright colored clothes and of course many of my clothes do have some kind of glitter and sequins on them, that is just who I am.

A while back I had a visit from a family member, this was a time when I was dealing with an issue that had taken place, and this lady had spoken some words of encouragement to me as she said, "Don't give up, you are our light."

Girlfriends, I have to be honest, I had never really thought much about these comments, the words that had been spoken out about me and over me, but as I think about, what people are seeing in me is the "Light of Jesus." It doesn't matter what I have been through or going through at any particular time, I love helping people and sharing the love of Jesus. When a person is a true follower of Jesus, that light is what draws people, it's the love that shines through and people see it, they feel it, whether they truly know what it is in the moment.

As I stood out in my yard the other night, looking up into the dark sky, so many beautiful bright shining stars lit up the sky like little night lights. I am so honored and blessed to have nick names such as "Sunshine," and "Anointed Sequin," and being known as "the light" to others, makes me want to keep looking up and reaching up to the one who created the stars in the first place. Jesus is know as "The light of the World" as it says in John 8:12, and it continues to say, "whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Girlfriends, I don't know about you, but I know for myself, I will always be looking up to the one who created the stars and who created me, so that I will shine with a brightness and with a love that will draw people to my loving Savior "Jesus," He truly is the "Light of the World," Amen.

Father God, You are the one and true living God who created the stars and everything in this wonderful and beautiful world. I give you glory and honor for being able to rejoice in yet another day. Lord, I thank you for your son Jesus, who became the living sacrifice for the world, so that we could be saved. Lord, I am so blessed and thankful to have such a wonderful Savior to follow the example of true love, so that others can see your glorious light shining through me. It is all you that shines, so Lord continue to use me to draw others to you and your perfect love in the Mighty name of Jesus. Let you glorious light shine on others so they too will see your glorious light in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
