Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe." John 20:27 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
My baby, my first baby is toddling around the house like she knew just what she was doing, smiling and giggling as she was getting places now on her own. Walking back and forth around the furniture, making a turn a little too fast, she stumbled and hit her little face on the corner of the t.v. stand causing a little gash on her cheek bone. Blood was streaming down her little face as she wailed from the pain, acting with no hesitation to put a cloth on her face, my niece and I drove quickly to the hospital to have her checked.
Taking her right into the examining room they quickly decided she would need stitches, as they began to wrap her up tightly in a blanket because she was thrashing too much to be held down from all the activity, I had to sit outside the room as my head began to spin, feeling like I would pass out, it was too much for me too watch and pregnant with another baby, my hormones were racing as well. Just minutes later the nurses brought her out to me with little tears in her eyes, she was holding a sucker they had given her to make her feel better. If that was all it would take to make a person feel better, how simple right?
After hitting a tree with the snowmobile, my son called me telling me what had happened, I immediately went into the praying mode for my son. He had said that he had two slices taken out of his arm from where the teeth of the tracks went over him and he was in pain inside of his ribs. When I was finished praying, he said that his ribs were feeling much better, they were still sore but not like before. I remember also praying that there would be no tell tale signs that he even had two cuts across his arm, and do you know they are almost gone, God sure does answer prayer.
Have you ever noticed that when there is a scar left behind there is always a story that that goes with it. The scar is the evidence of closure after the skin grows over. A scar shows a person that something did happen that had caused pain in that area, but what about the scars that are on the inside of a person from all the traumas of life. You can't see them, but you may see signs from a reaction from the person, after something had happened that triggered their reaction, because it brought those memories back to them, something that could have happened many years ago.
Girlfriends, more and more information is coming out all the time about hidden sicknesses that jump to the surface once in awhile that people would not have known about but there are signs to look for. Such things come to mind as Alzheimer's, Dementia, cancer, blood disorders to name a few, there is medical help that is available for these things, but what about the deeper things that have come with life being on the end of some kind of mental, physical or emotional trauma. There are no physical signs on the outside of the body to show, but inside there are deep layers of pain that lies deeper within the surface.
Doctor Jesus is still on the scene and ready to take care of those deep scars that lie within. Jesus is on call every day just waiting for His next patient to come to Him, whether it's day or night. To the person who has experienced the trauma of sexual abuse there is healing for you. For the person who has experienced mental, physical and emotional trauma, Jesus is in the waiting room calling out your name for you to come to Him and let Him remove the hurt and pain from those deep scars that are within. When you visit His Doctors office you will definitely come out feeling different than when you went in. Isn't that the way one is supposed to be after having a visit with the Doctor? Natural Doctors can only do so much but Doctor Jesus can get right to the root of things and heal you completely from the inside out.
In our key verse, Thomas was not believing that it was Jesus who stood in front of him, until Jesus spoke for Thomas to touch His nail scarred hands and to put his hand on His side where the scar was. This was when Thomas' eyes came open that it really was Jesus standing there, he then believed. To the ones that may have unbelief like Thomas did, when Jesus gets done with you, you will believe like never before that you could be set free and healed from all of those years and layers of hurt, and I should know because I was once one of them.
Let's Pray,
Heavenly Father, I praise You Jesus that You are the miracle worker, the promise keeper, the light in the darkness. Lord, so many years ago, You healed me from all of those deep layers of inner scars and what You did for me, You will do for others as well. Lord, let these dear ones disbelief turn into belief as You are touching their hearts right now in the mighty name of Jesus, let the warmth of Your love flow over them and through their bodies in Jesus name, and let them testify of the great and mighty healing that took place within them that made them a new person in Jesus mighty name I pray in faith believing, Amen.
Be blessed and continue to pass the blessings on. Let's remember to hold one another up in prayer, and just because we can't see scars on the outside, it doesn't mean that there are none. If you know of anyone who is in need of old scars being healed, refer them to best Doctor that specializes in the healing business, "Dr. Jesus."
