"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
A few days ago a friend of mine had came to my house for a little visit, while my daughter was here as well making a batch of fall earings for an upcoming fall craft sale. This "Mimi" was on "baby duty," chasing my thirteen month grandson around the house, making sure he didn't get into "too" many things, you know. Making room on the table for the big earing production, I had to move a few things around in order to make enough space for my daughter to work.
After my friend decided she had better get back to her house, shortly after, I drove my daughter and grandson home, but not before we cleaned up the "little big mess" of towels, plastic containers, pots and pans my grandson had pulled out. Tidying up the kitchen a little more, getting things ready for the next day, I had decided that I was going to retire early, by going to my room and reading my Bible for a while.
Going to the last place I had seen it, which was the kitchen table, it was not there. I went down to my bedroom searching for it there, I looked in the spare room where I write my devotions, it wasn't there. On my third trip back up the hall to the kitchen area, I stood staring at the table, because this was where I remembered it being. I had even texted my friend that had been here, and asked her if she had seen it, but to no avail. So standing and looking and thinking, I spoke out "Lord where is my Bible?" Immediately after asking the question, I felt to look in my purse, don't ask me why, but low and behold there it was.
Girlfriends, how much time do we waste, how much energy do we waste by looking for something that we have misplaced, set aside, moved to a better spot. Do I remember putting the Bible in my purse, as I thought about it, my purse had been sitting on the kitchen chair, and as I was making room on the table, cleaning things up a bit, I remembered laying my Bible in my purse, then sliding my purse under the pink chair in the living room so it would be out of the way.
As soon as there is something missing, why do we wander all over the place, searching in every nook and cranny trying to find it, why don't we just stop and ask God right at the very start? Just as soon as I saw that my Bible was not on the table or around the table, I should have stopped right then and asked God where I had put it. Isn't that the same way in our daily decision making, that we should ask God first whether that decision is a good one or not. We should ask God first, if that business deal is worth while or not, we should ask God first if that's the right man for a relationship.
When you look back at your life now, how many times can you see that things had not turned out so good, and now you know, that if you would have asked God and sought Him, things would have turned out a lot better. You would not have had all the run around in your life, the wasted time and effort that wasn't necessary, you wouldn't feel like you had lost time, I know that feeling. That is something that we will get better at when we stop and take the time to ask God first, seek Him in His word, and don't stop knocking until the answer comes.
How many people are out there wandering around lost, looking for a better way to live, they know there has to be something better than what they have now, but they are not sure what that thing is. Girlfriends, we have opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are lost and wandering in darkness and deception. We hold the answer to the question that they are thinking and wondering about, we have it and it's Jesus. Will you join with me today and share Jesus with this lost and dying world, will you take the time to love on someone who is lost and lonely, someone who is bent over with grief, will you reach out your hand to the broken and the weary who feel they can't take another step.
We have the answer for all of these people, some of them may even be own own neighbors, people that we see every day in the work place, grocery store. Together, let's join hands all over the globe and reach the lost, together we can do it, each one, reach one, let's do it, they need Jesus and let's watch what He will do!
Let's Pray,
Father God, I praise you and I thank you for this wonderful day that is full of rich blessings. Lord, I thank you for each dear soul that you put in our path today, to share your love with them. Lord, I thank you in advance for the changed lives that will take place today, as each of us reach out to these sweet souls. There are many souls that are searching and we thank you Lord for using us to be your hand extended, so that there will be a difference made for the kingdom. I speak blessings and favor over each one that reaches one today in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed, and pass the blessings on. Thank you in advance for passing this message on, and you will be richly blessed.
