The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 NIV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Experiencing yet another birthday a few days ago, I was telling my family that you never know what's going to happen from year to year. Not everyone was able to gather at the same time so it was spread out over a few days of having visitors. The first day I was taken out for the day just driving over the country side enjoying Gods beautiful country, stopping for a little bite to eat, only to arrive home with a big white bag sitting on my kitchen table. At first I had walked right by it and my daughter motioned that there was a surprise sitting practically beside me, in the next moment I flew into the bag finding two large red glittery Christmas tree decorations for me to add with my green sparkly trees I already had. Shortly after, I had texted my friend saying thank you for the beautiful gift and that's when she asked how I liked the earings, which came to a surprise to me, already loving the first part of the gift. Back to the bag I went digging to the bottom there they were hiding in the corner, and of course I had to try them on.
A couple of days later my son and his girls showed up for a visit, as they settled in the girls and I colored, then we were setting up a game for them to play while the adults congregated in another section to have a family talk. A knock came to the door, to my wonderful surprise it was my son's girlfriend and daughter who had just travelled a long time in the storm that was taking place. Chinese food was ordered in as we enjoyed one another's company talking about Christmas day plans.
Since one of my other daughters was not able to join us the other night, she came with my two other granddaughters and a bag in her hand. Before I had made it up the hall I had noticed that they were doing something in the fridge but not really paying attention too much, because of the comotion going towards the baby who was in the middle of things. After looking at my gift that was brought, with so many beautiful smells from "Bath and Body," I was excited to get using them, as always that is always a wonderful gift. I had made the comment that I didn't expect a gift at all, the one thing I thought that my daughter would bring would be some chees cake from the shop that she works at. That was when she said, "You don't know what is in the fridge," as we all laughed, I just had that feeling.
Having a birthday spread out over several days was kind of nice actually, being able to spend quality time with each group of people at smaller gatherings, I totally felt so blessed. Over the years as each of my children had moved out on their own, I had helped them out in every way that I could in order to get them set up, and that's why I feel it all came back to me as they do such wonderful little things for me now. How blessed is that. Luke 6:38 says to us, "Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."
Girlfriends, children are truly a blessing to have around you, not only as sweet babies but as sweet adults as well. Each one is different and each child has their own special gifts within them that when a person takes the time to spend with a child you will surely find it and see it. God truly does bless us in so many ways, does it not say in Matthew 6:30 that God clothes the grass in the field, then how much more will He clothe us, that is His promise to us, His blessings for us. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us." God will bless us up and above whatever we can think or imagine, He goes up and above and beyond our thinking, Praise God! Can you imagine that when our ways please the Lord, that He makes even our enemies be at peace with us, found in Prov. 16:7, now that sounds impossible, but not with God it's not, nothing is impossible for Him.
Girlfriends, let each one of us shower someone else today with blessings, there must be someone we can think of in our community that we could help or do something for, to show the love of Jesus to. It always feels so good to do something for someone and especially when you don't expect anything in return, God reminds us of this in Acts 20:35. If each one of us could do something for someone else this season, look at the wonderful difference we could make in the world as we would be Gods hand extended to reach the lost, the hurting, we can spread the love of Jesus to those who may not even know that they need it. Let's all work together to share His love this season, but even all year round to be that witness to the souls that God so loves as well, let's be that blessing.
Let's Pray,
Precious Jesus, we thank you for this wonderful time of the year which tends to bring out the giving in people. Lord help each one us us to help one another in blessing those who may be less fortunate. Let us dig deep into our souls to remember what it was like when we may have been that person in need and extend forward what the Lord has done for each of us, as we will be passing the blessings on, and as we do we thank you Lord knowing that you will be shining down on each of us for you will be so pleased. I pray that each one of us will reach at least one this holiday season in the Mighty name of Jesus in order to make a difference for the Kingdom in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Be blessed sweet ones and pass the blessings on.
