Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Romans 12:14 ESV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Wherever you go there are all walks of life, there are now so many different cultures that have moved into our countries, as they have fled from horrific living conditions. There are people that we work with in our work places that come from all different kinds of situations.

Sitting in on a ladies Bible study group listening, as each one would share a little bit about what some of their struggles were, as the topic that was being discussed was about "Focus." Many people have troubles and struggles no matter where they live, no matter what stage of life they are in, and whether they are young or older, it doesn't seem to matter.

As we were talking about where we tend to keep our focus, and if we get off track, we discussed what does it take to get one back on track to get back into focus. As we went around the table with each one sharing, I shared that when we keep our focus on Jesus first thing in the morning, and the last thing at night as we are getting ready to call it a night, that it helps us get through our day so much better when we are putting Him first in our lives.

Jesus is the perfect example of who to follow in our daily lives, He teaches us that there is power in our words, death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits, found in Prov. 18:21. Jesus teaches us that we are to love one another as Christ loves us, found in John 13:24, John 15:12, and Romans 12:10. So, if we are to love one another and we are to pray for one another, James 5:16, then why wouldn't we want to speak blessings over people. Every where that Jesus went, He prayed for people as He spoke life and not death.

Girlfriends, what does the Bible say to us about praying for those who persecute us, who have hurt us, who has done wrong to us, what are we to do with these people? Let's look at what it says in Matt. 5:43-48. "There is a saying, 'Love your friends and hate your enemies.' "But I say: Love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way you will be acting as true sons of your Father in heaven. For He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust too. If you love only those who love you, what good is that? Even scoundrels do that much. If you are friendly only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even the heathen do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect."

So girlfriends, God's word plainly tells us that we must pray for one another, we have the power in our tongues to speak blessings. There may be times that we may not feel like it, but as we grow stronger in the Lord, and crucify our flesh, meaning not only doing what we want to do or do not want to do, but what God says for us to do, we will be blessed by speaking blessings over others. We know that Jesus was the only perfect one, but as we follow Him each day by getting into His word, we should be striving to become more and more like Him.

It is so important as I have learned, that when a situation arises, and we are slow to speak or slow to react, we can be more in control of what comes out of our mouth, we can be thinking of the right words that we want to come out, so that we can speak a blessing and become a blessing to that other person. Let's practice each day when we are facing something to speak life, speak out loving words, kind and gentle words. People will see then that we are truly different than the rest of the people in the world, they will see it, they will feel it, and as it says in the word, they will see our fruits.

Maybe you can think of someone that may need a blessing spoken over them, there may be someone that you could bless with a kind word, a prayer, an act of kindness. Let's make it a point each day to speak blessings over the people that we come in contact with, so speaking a blessing will make this world a better place, Amen? Amen.

Let's Pray,

Father God, we truly are a blessed people to be able to have a wonderful teacher to follow in your footsteps, so that we can become more like you. Lord, I thank you for this glorious day as I speak blessings out over everyone here today. Your day will be a brighter, happier day when you start your day off by putting Jesus first. Let Him be the center of your life each and every day so that each one will become more and more like Him to be able to be more of a blessing wherever your feet may go. Let each one speak life and blessings over each person you come in contact with, you never know whose day you will brighten, in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Be blessed and share the blessings. Thank you for passing this message on in hopes that it will bless someone.
