Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Prov. 3:5-6 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
My husband, who is now passed, used to tell so many stories of silly pranks that he had pulled on people when he was a young boy and even when he was a little older in life, and I remember saying to him that he would be the one my mother would have warned me about, as we would laugh about it.
This one story sticks out in my mind, as I have ponder how in the world he managed to pull this prank off without the driver of the car even noticing what he had done. It was a small fishing village that everyone knew everyone, so this one day as this older gentleman drove up in front of the little country store, he parked his car and stepped out, acknowledgements were made to neighbors that were standing outside of the store, as good mornings were being exchanged and small talk was over he entered the store. Being a young fella and full of mischief I would say, decided that he was going to put blocks underneath this mans car, just enough so that he would not be able to leave the yard.
As the story was told, the man came out of the little store carrying his bag of groceries, exchanging a few more words to the neighbors that was still standing around, they watched as he got into his car and started it up and as he put the car into drive to take off, he was waving and smiling to the people but he wasn't going anywhere. I remember my husband saying, what seemed like moments that had went by, the man just kept waving and smiling before he realized that he was going anywhere, his tires were just spinning.
That story reminds me of different times in my life when incidences would happen, and the situation didn't change, and it wouldn't change until a decision was made, my wheels would just keep spinning. For example...I'm going to say it...when adultery was taking place, and other things were involved and I knew it, this was even before I was living for the Lord, no matter how much I had loved this person, my situation was not going to change, because they didn't want to change, so someone had to make a change and it happen to be me. I was tired of the same 'ol' things happening over and over, nothing was getting any better, I was not going anywhere in life, so when the decision was finally made to get out of that situation, that is when my life started to move forward. When I think back on it, that is when God started to make changes in me and at the time I didn't even realize that it was Him doing the work and making changes in me. God was working on the inside of me to make me a better person for not only myself but for my children as well.
Girlfriends, if you find yourself in a situation where you feel that your tires have been spinning for a long time, maybe even years, your situation has been going the same way with no apparent changes to be seen, when you come to the place that you can make the decision for yourself to make a change then and only then will you see things happen for the good. If it is your job that is not working out, a relationship with a friend or a loved one or spouse, the best thing you can do is go to God and ask Him what you should do. Every time I have a decision to make about something, I ask God what I should do about it, I open up His word and He speaks to me, He leads me and guides me in every situation. (James 1:5)
Life is hard at times even when we have the Lord, but I couldn't imagine going through life now without Him. He wants us to seek Him diligently, seek Him every day, talk to Him that is what He is there for to help us to get through life's troubles. He is our comforter when we need comforting, He is our lawyer when we need legal advice, He is our doctor when we need healing, and He is our spouse, loving heavenly father when we need to feel loved. When you feel like your tires are spinning on the road called life, you have a deliver and His name is Jesus.
Let's Pray,
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you Lord for being there for me when I have needed you and even when I didn't even know I needed you, You have always been there. I lift up that precious person who is worn down and tired from life's pressures, for the one who is having a hard time to make that tough decision that they know they must make. Lord I pray that they would feel your strength rise up in them as they seek You, and let them call out to You today that their life's situation would be turned around for the good as they will be off and driving in a new direction, they will be on a clearer path, a cleaner road with less bumps and holes to go through in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones, and pass the blessings on to someone else who may need it.
