Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing, now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:18-19 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
For the last four and a half months, I have had the privilege of watching my youngest grandbaby grow right here in my own home. There is nothing more special and precious than a new little one to love and to hold and help take care of. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was sitting in the parking lot of the hospital waiting for the call that 'baby is here', at that time only the dad could be in the delivery room with mama to be.
It was all so exciting to know that this little family would be staying with me until mama had healed from going through quite a traumatic delivery. Each morning I would take a turn holding this new little sweet bundle, singing little lullabies to him, and just marveling over the beautiful little creation that God had made. Day by day, as I would take pictures during my morning with him, I would send the other family members a daily update of how he was growing and changing, I called it "mornings with mimi."
Eyelashes and eyebrows begin to come in, hair that was there is rubbed off as new hair comes in, new sleep patterns begin, growth changes take place as the little features begin to change and take form, as he comes into his own little his own little personality. Since time has seemed to fly right by, he is becoming so aware of sounds, voices, bright colors and patterns, his little legs are becoming strong to want to stand up when being held, no more laying down. Recently we have noticed, as we are sitting at the table having a meal, he watches with great enthusiasm to each fork full of food that is being lifted to ones mouth, he has become very intrigued with it as he reaches out for the fork or to the plate, it's like he is saying "I want some too."
Opening the box of baby rice cereal, this little man watches with wonder as his mama stirs something around in the bowl and comes closer to him with the spoon, with eyes widening his mouth opens as the spoonful of cereal is given. After seconds of smacking, he is excited to see another spoonful coming his way and as each one comes, his hands and feet are moving with such excitement, as he is probably thinking, "this is what it's all about, I've been waiting for this."
Girlfriends, even though we are older, and things and people have come and gone in our lives, there are still new and exciting things that God has for us in this new season. Sometimes when a person can see things turning and changing in their life, it's like being as a little child at Christmas, wondering what is inside all of the presents that has a tag with their name on it. There are times in our lives that we may go through some dry patches, rough roads, hard hills to climb, but as it tells us in Isaiah 43:18-19, God has new things for us, He tells us not to think about hard times, the formers things that have happen, He wants us to focus on what is ahead, for He is doing a new thing, He has new things in store for us, maybe new places to go, new people to meet, new businesses to start, new books to write, or new songs to create, whatever it is, if we can be able to receive these new things just like the baby who is receiving this new taste of food that is coming his way for the first time, and we are open to try new things that God has for us, it can be a very exciting time for us as well as adults.
Sometimes we do not know what that new thing is going to look like, or how God is going to bring that new thing about, but like He says in His word, every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of heavenly lights. (1 Chronicles 16:11-12, James 1:17) Each and every one us are going to have hard times and struggles but we will get through them, there are times and seasons that God will bring new opportunities to us, download new thoughts and ideas for us to bring about, new creations to be created and as these new things come about, let us come with an excitement as a little child, to try that something new, because I believe only good things will come out of it, Amen.
Let's Pray,
Father God, I thank you that Your spirit is always on the move and that you do not stay in one place. I thank you for all of the new things that You are doing in the earth and in the lives of people. Lord, I pray that each one of us will be as open to theses new ideas and new opportunities, as we are to the wind blowing through our hair. Lord as I have heard you say, "Do you trust me," let us have the faith and trust to be open for the new things that you have in store for us in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, and let us go forth with the boldness of God, not looking back but moving forward right along with you in Jesus name, Amen.
Be blessed sweet ones and pass the blessings onto others that you meet.
