Good Morning Girlfriends:
This is crazy, how ridiculously broken up the roads are. Where I live there is a long stretch in the road, that a person has to drive on the other side of the road just so one doesn't drop into the large crevasses and tear ones car all apart.
The sad thing about it is, there are so many main roads as well as many back roads that are so torn to pieces that makes it difficult for one to have a pleasant drive. The big question that is spoken out every year as we see the roads in this terrible state is, "When are they going to fix these roads?" It probably doesn't happen until many complaints start coming in to the head office, which pushes the road crew to be sent out and take a survey of how bad the road conditions are.
Not too long ago I had learned an interesting fact about why the roads continue to break apart so quickly as they do. As the broken parts of the road are scraped up, those broken pieces are scooped up and melted back down with a little new mixture and then laid back down into the hole and pressed over, doesn't that make it a recycled road? What needs to happen in the most severe places, is that the road is completely stripped down to the bottom and freshly started over right from the start, none of this patching as they so often do, it doesn't last.
Girlfriends, just as there are many potholes and roads that needs to be fixed all over the country, there just might be some potholes in our lives that may need a little fixing up. As I was talking to a friend, we were saying that getting in the word sometimes gets put aside at times, or ones prayer life may not be as on fire as it once was, or how about even taking time to listen to another persons story about what they are going through, these can be some potholes that we fall into and we need to work on them. Other bigger potholes could be talking about other people, gossiping, talking like a "Debbie Downer" would talk, being negative, these are other potholes to work on.
We can't be so caught up if someone is driving on the other side of the road to avoid potholes, we have to be more concerned about getting our own issues fixed in our own life. John 21:22 says it this way, "If I want him to live until I return, what's that to you/ You follow me." It is important for us to recognize our own issues, our own faults that we need to work on so that we can get them fixed up so we are looking, talking and acting better. Even though someone else may be in a bad place, driving on the other side of the road to "Avoid" their potholes, that is something that, that other person and God will have to work on together. Whether people drive on the other side of the road to avoid potholes so to say, each and every one of us has our own life to get worked out, our own salvation worked out so we won't continue to fall into other potholes in life.
Just like that patch of road that I was explaining that was so torn up, it did finally get worked on, more or less they just patched it over, but thank s be to God that He sent His son for us that was the one and only spotless lamb, who never knew sin. God paved the road the right way, he didn't just patch things up by sending just any person to pave the way for us, no He sent the best and the only sinless one for us. There are many messages out there that are many roads that lead to heaven, but it is written in God's holy word that there is only one way to the father and that is through Jesus Christ His son. (John 14:6) In the New Living Bible it tells us that, "But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it."
Girlfriends, my prayer is that even though we have some potholes that need to be fixed sometimes, that's okay, just as long as we allow God to help us get whatever it is that needs fixing, fixed. We don't want to always be like those who continually drive around the potholes and never deal with the issues problems we may have, it is so much better to get the help we need by calling out to the one who paved the way for us because He loves us so much and we want to be able to hear the words, "Well done my good and faithful servant."
Let's Pray,
Father God, I exalt You and praise You for who You are and for sending Your one and only son for us to make a way for us, a way to eternal life. Lord, I lift up that one to you that may have a few potholes that need fixing. Lord, I know that You will not just smooth things over but You will deal and heal with the deeper matters so that it is fixed up right. Lord Your words says that You do all things well and we thank You in advance, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed sweet ones and pass the blessings on and pass this word on in hopes that it will bless someone.
