The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11 NLT
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Have you ever thought what it would have been like to live in the times when Jesus actually was living on this earth? Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you saw Him coming towards you as He asked you to follow Him? Can't you picture following Jesus around listening to Him as He taught about heaven and that this earthly home is only temporary. Over and over I have thought about this, to be physically in the presence of Jesus, sitting side by side talking like best friends do, laughing, crying giving one another a hug, hugging Jesus.
Imagine being at the wedding ceremony that ran out of wine and being there to experience Jesus' very first miracle, even if He was uncertain at the time of being able to perform this miracle, His mother would have been right there to encourage Him to do so. (John 2:1-11) As we are walking along with Jesus, we come upon a man in Capernaum in Galilee that has an evil spirit, we are watching Jesus calling that spirit to come out so the man can be free, (Mark 1:21-27) that would be an eye opener.
On we go to the Sea of Galilee with Jesus as we come upon the fishermen who have been fishing all night but with no catch, (Luke 5:1-11) listening to Jesus telling the men to cast their nets one more time only to see the nets overflowing with the biggest catch they had ever seen, how miraculous that would be. You can imagine the excitement that would be rolling through the towns to hear that Jesus was at a certain house, and to see a group of people bringing their paralyzed friend to see Jesus, knowing that when Jesus touched him he would be healed. (Matt. 9:1-8, Mark 2:1-12, Luke 5:17-26) There right before your eyes as Jesus told the man to get up and walk, to see that for yourself, what a moment that would be.
Walking along with Jesus would be nothing but exciting to say the least, to watch Him bring a widow's son back from the dead, (Luke 7:11-17) healing two blind men in Capernaum in Galilee. (Matt. 9:27-31) Then to see Jesus performing the miracle for a man who could not speak, (Matt. 9:32-34) and to hear that man with your own ears speak his first word. Here we are sitting on the hillside with Jesus, as He is teaching thousands of people and He performs a miracle with five loaves of bread and two fish to feed everyone, with food left over in the basket. Then as we are walking along the road, we see a man sitting along the side who is blind, watching as Jesus picks up some dirt and mixing it with spit to make a paste, then putting on the blind mans eyes and he is able to see, what...how can that be. (John 9:1-12)
Girlfriends, as we read all of these accounts of all the miracles that Jesus had performed, the Bible tells us that the same spirit lives in us. When we ask Jesus to come into our hearts, to live within us, that is His spirit that dwells inside of us. The Bible tells us in John 14:12, "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." Do you believe that, can you imagine it, we can do the same miracles that Jesus did, because He will go to His Father on our behalf. I believe this completely, because I have seen it happen with my own eyes. If a person believes, things will happen.
Even though Jesus is not here in the physical, but He is here in the spirit, which is inside of us, and according to our faith we can do greater things, greater miracles because of Him who lives in us, that is very exciting when you stop to think about it, Amen? Do You Believe?
Let's Pray,
Father God, I praise You for Your wondering working power that is within us. Lord, believe in Your power, I have seen it in action. Lord help others to believe that the same resurrection power lives within them as well, who has called upon the name of Jesus. Lord, let us go out and do exploits in Your holy name. Let Your spirit come alive within us as You use us for Your glory and Your glory alone, in Jesus name, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones and pass the blessings on.
