"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!" Isaiah 26:3 NLT
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Have you ever had one of those mornings, where you know you have so many things that you want to get done and you just cannot find the kick to get yourself going, that's me this morning. The sun is finally shining, the birds are singing their beautiful songs and I could go right back to sleep, what's wrong with this picture? Isn't that exactly what one could have said so many years ago, when Jesus came riding into town, the people loved, honored, worshipped and adored Him as they waved the palm branches and some laid them down as He came through the crowd, and the very next week they were yelling "Crucify Him."
How can so many people be to one way of extreme and then go completely to the other end of the spectrum, one would wonder if they could think for themselves or were they just following the crowd instead of standing up for how they really felt.
On that dark Friday, the crowd followed along as the soldiers walked with Jesus up the hill to His destination, as He was laid on the cross to be crucified, some saw it as a sight that they could not believe was taking place, where there were others who laughed and mocked because they didn't realize who this man named Jesus really was, and the power that He carried within Him. When Jesus had took His final breath, some of the crowd had left the scene as a few stragglers lingered, it was Jesus' family who stayed to be close by to their son, brother and closest friend. Jesus's bodied was carefully wrapped in fine linen and spices as He was buried in the tomb. That Saturday was a quiet dark and gloomy day, as they reflected on what had just taken place, their hearts were heavy and I'm sure sobs could be heard as tears filled His loved ones eyes.
Oh glorious day, that Monday was a "But God" moment when the soldiers had found that the stone had been rolled away and there was no body, Jesus' body was gone and the shout was on in more ways than one. They were in amazement and wonder to where His body was, where was Jesus the questions were being asked, where could He have gone?
Girlfriends, can you just picture this whole scene, can you? As we know today how this event unfolded and what had actually happened, I think about that old devil who thought that once Jesus was crucified that would be the end of his troubles. Oh but little did he know the power that Jesus held was only the beginning of his misery and that more would be added. What I mean by this is, we, who have given our lives to the Lord, and are filled with His spirit, are a force to be reckoned with because we hold that same power within us as Jesus did. We have the power to come against that old devil any time he tries to attack up with a situation.
Even though the day of crucifixion was horrible tear filled day, the son was there. On the second day, it was sad and gloomy, the son was there, as He took back the keys from the devil. And on the third day, the son was there, as we know His body had been resurrected, the sun was shining above but, so was the "S O N," as He was shining from up above as He had taught all of His disciples and followers, that one day this is where He would be.
Girlfriends, even when it is cloudy outside, a dark dreary day, the "S U N" is still shining up above all those thick clouds that loom. Even when we go through some dark and dreary times in our lives, the "S O N" is still shining in our very situation, why...because He is always with us. (Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 41:10, Deut. 31:6, Zeph. 3:17) That is something to get up and shout about, just knowing that God is with us no matter where we go, what we are going through, what dark storms we are facing, He is there! If we are having a good day, He is there, if we are having a not so good day, He is there. Get up and give Him a shout of praise, He is with you.
So, the next time that you are faced with a situation, give the Lord a great big shout that you acknowledge that His very presence is with you, and He will never leave you or forsake you. Always remember the same power that raise our Savior from the grave, lives in you. Let that sink in, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Precious Jesus, I lift up Your holy name, and I praise You for who You are and the same power that lives in me because of You. Lord, we just celebrated "Resurrection Sunday," Lord I speak over every dark situation that that dear one is facing, and I say that you are coming out of it, you are being resurrected out of that situation in the mighty name of Jesus. Jesus spoke to the storm that arose that dark night and said 'Peace be Still," so I speak those very same words over your situation, "Peace Be Still," as your storm calms and you walk right out of it and for this we give Jesus all of the praise in His mighty name we pray, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones and pass the blessings on to others. Please pass this word onto others that you know and watch how God works in every situation.
