And I want you to know this, dear brothers: Everything that has happened to me here has been a great boost in getting out the Good News concerning Christ. Philippians 1:12 TLB

Good Morning Girlfriends:

Back in 2005, my three children and I, at that time, were left to fend for ourselves, when we had a housefire as we were getting ready for church this one Sunday morning. I had to make some fast decisions on what to do in order to get all three children out and myself as well, safely. Most of us were in our jammies, one was not, so a blanket was wrapped around that little one, with some of us wearing slippers and two in bare feet, we were able to get out unharmed, but losing everything we had ever owned from childhood up and our most loved possessions, our cats. As neighbors had came to scoop us all up into warm vehicles, because this had happened the end of January, we were all taken to the hospital to be checked over for precaution.

My mother was called in alert of what happened, as she rushed into the hospital to see that we were okay, she looked at me and noticed that my once blonde hair had new black tips, because of the smoke attaching itself to my wet hair, we both had a little laugh. It was when she asked me, "what are you going to do," she did not expect the response that I had given her. I had said, "The way that I look at it, the house served it's purpose while I needed it, but God will provide me with something better for me and my children." You see it was a big five bedroom house and I had five children all living there at one point in time, so it was just what we needed, but when two of my older children had moved out, I really didn't need that big house, and it was far too expensive to keep up anyway.

Silver Lining: A positive outcome or aspect of a bad situation; an unseen benefit or element of hopefulness. So, if there was a silver lining to my situation of being burnt out, I saw it as God providing me with a different place that was smaller, and easier to take care of but was just enough room for my three girls and myself. I had another time in my life where I was let go from my job, right on the spot and I only had my widow's pension to live on, but it gave me the time to grieve my husband that had just passed away, and to start doing the things that God had been calling me to do, such as what I am doing right now, writing devotions. Just remember as every cloud has a silver lining, every negative situation has the potential to result into something positive.

Girlfriends, have you thought of this, that if there will never be a silver lining if there are no clouds. We always have to think of the brighter side even if there is none. If we could always think about every difficult person we have had to deal with in our lifetime, it could teach us that we do not want to be like those kind of people. The broken people, will always be able to love harder than most; because once you have been in the dark or a dark place, they learn to appreciated all that shines. If we have Jesus living on the inside of us, I like to think of us as the silver lining in the dark cloud, or dark place, because we are bringing the light into a dark situation, Jesus is the light, which is found in John 8:12.

Sometimes when things look like they are falling apart, they may just actually be falling right into place. So as I say to you today, if you are going through a dark time, let the light of Jesus shine down on your situation, it may be time that things will be turned around in order for you to start that new business of your very own, it may be time to leave that toxic relationship, it may be time for a boldness to come upon you to reach out and try something new, for when we look to Jesus He makes all things new, found in Rev. 21:5. So look up girlfriends, and just remember that when you see a dark cloud looming over...Every cloud has a silver lining, Amen.

Let's Pray,

Precious Jesus, I just thank you for this most wonderful day that you have given us, it may be raining outside but the sun is still shining behind those clouds. Lord, you are always the light that shines in the darkness, You are the silver lining behind every cloud. Lord, I lift each sweet person up to you today who may be going through a dark time, and I command that every dark situation would dissipate from them, in the Mighty name of Jesus, and that the light of the living God would shine bright into their place and it would illuminate with your power, Lord as all darkness has to go in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Be blessed sweet girlfriends, and pass the blessings on.
