For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Changing a babies diaper can be challenging at times, especially the older they get. Getting the diaper off is not usually the issue but trying to put it back on can be a little tricky when they decide they are going to wiggle around or hold their legs stiff as you try to pull the diaper up through. This what happened the other day as I was changing my grandsons diaper, he began to stiffen his legs as he was laughing, I had told him, "Mimi can do this a lot easier if you would bend your legs."
I began to think about when we worked with playdough with the children at the daycare, it started out as a hard blob until we rolled it on the table and pushed it with our hands. It was the warmth and the pressure from our hands that began to make the playdough pliable to be able to be formed into whatever we were making at the time. If the playdough was an older batch, it tended to be a little harder to work with, pressure really had to be applied to be able to work with it.
Girlfriends, is that not just like us at times, oh my goodness what a great analogy. There are times that God may want us to do something, because He has showed us in a dream or has spoken to us through His word, and we may not want to do it. Or it can be something as simple as apologizing to someone, or helping that person that we really find quite hard to deal with, but isn't that like that older piece of playdough that's hard to work with, it's less pliable. The definition of pliable is to be supple enough to bend freely or repeatedly without breaking. Or we can think of another word that is the same that we use quite often which is being flexible, being able or willing to do different thing when we are asked to, maybe from a boss at our job, or changing your plans when a friend calls and needs a hand doing something, putting down your work so you can go outside to swing with your children.
I came across a quote that said this could be a modern day beatitude, "Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be broken." When God bends us He will not break us or when He stretches us He will not snap us, we won't break. We can say that sometimes there is a little pain involved especially if we are bucking against Him because He knows where He wants to take us, we are the ones who have to be pliable in His hands so He can take us there, we have to be willing to move with his spirit to go where He is leading. God has a plan for each and every one of lives, are we going to be content just doing the same 'ole' thing over and over, or are we going to be pliable, flexible to move out into something new, my friends.
God wants us to know, because it is His promise to us, that we can take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11, that no matter what we are going through, what struggle we face, what hardships we are battling, God has a plan for our lives and regardless of our current situations, He can work through it to prosper us and give us a hope. He is our God who never fail, Amen.
Let's Pray,
Father God, You are an awesome God, You lead us in ways that we don't even see things coming because it is gentle. Lord when there are situations that we go through that may be a little harder, let us really grasp that You are always with us and that Your grace is sufficient in all things. Lord help us to be pliable as You are molding us to be the person You are forming us to be, let us not buck against the heat and the pressure of Your hands but let us realize that You have a wonderful plan for each of us and You are guiding us to get to that place, in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Be blessed dear ones and pass the blessings on.
