Trick Or Treat

Good Morning Girlfriends:

It's so hard to believe that so many years have gone by since I have given my heart to the Lord. Day after day, I was so excited to know everything that I could about my new found friend Jesus, that I searched the Bible constantly learning all that I could about living like Jesus. Friends that I had, had given me c.d. gift sets that had lots of good teachings that I could listen to while I was cleaning the house or I could take them and listen to them while I was driving, biblical truths was always being downloaded into me one way or another.

It was when, my next to the youngest daughter was just little, was when I found out that she did not like anything that had to do with Halloween. When we went grocery shopping and we turned the next corner, not realizing it was the aisles where all the Halloween costumes were displayed, she would cry and squeal, so it didn't take me long to get that cart turned around in the opposite direction. Every store that we went shopping at, would have an aisle that carried scary masks, weird looking costumes, and some cute ones, but again every time she saw them she would begin to squirm and cry, so that we would have to make a wide birth around those particular aisles.

It was then I began to research everything that I could about this holiday called Halloween. While some believers think it is okay to take part in this holiday, dressing up in costumes, going door to door to collect candies that is given out by neighbors, for me there are many reasons that point in the other direction for me to disagree. Let me share with you, my view on this topic the best way I can.

Most of us will remember the late Evangelist Billy Graham, he had made a statement that "The Bible is very clear: If we want to please God, we will avoid everything that has anything to do with the occult, even if it seems innocent or harmless on the surface." "Occult practices of any kind could involve you with spiritual forces that are opposed to God and are, in fact, in league with the devil." Billy Graham continued to say that the occult practices are directly opposed to God and His will for our lives. Another statement that Billy Graham had made was that "Just as the devil is absolutely opposed to God and His people, so too are his demons." He shared that we would be opening the door to evil's influence over us.

Girlfriends, not that we as Christians would want to be involved in anything that would be displeasing to the Lord, and that would open ourselves up to the dark side. Scripture does tell us in Ephesians 5:11, "Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness, instead, expose them." 1 Peter 5:8 also tells us to "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

Daystar, which is a Christian television program, interviewed "John Ramirez" an Ex-High Priest Satanist, who let the viewers know that as parents let their children dress up in costumes, whether they are cute little costumes or any kind of costume, it is allowing our children to trade their identity for this one night on Halloween, with the devil, and who is the one who gave each of us our identity, It's God. Without going into anything too deep, check out John Ramirez on the internet for yourself, as he explains all the hidden agendas that goes on behind the scenes of Halloween.

Look at our key verse that was used, 2 Cor. 11:14 and how it says, "And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades, disguises himself as an angel of light." it's like he is wearing a costume to disguise himself, as he tries to deceive many people. 3 John 1:11 says, "Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. There is so much information out there today, so that we are able to get educated on topics such as this one. Romans 12:2 also tells us "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will."

Girlfriends, it is always best to pray about all things, about every decision that must be made, every situation that we face, every trial that we are in, pray and seek the Lord, in order to know what He says about each and every situation that we face in life. Titus 1:15 says, "To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted." 1 Thessalonians 5:22 tells us to reject every kind of evil. And let's not forget this very important verse, Ephesians 6:12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

Let's gain all the knowledge that we can, so that we are well prepared with whatever the enemy comes at us with, we will know how to fight him in the spirit with God's word, as we speak out, "IT IS WRITTEN."

Let's Pray,

Father God, I thank you for this glorious day. This is the day that you have made and I will rejoice. Lord, I thank you for your living word, that as we read it and get it down deep within us, we have authority over the devil as we declare and decree your word. Lord, help us to always be on guard and to be watchful for any attempt that the devil may try to trip us up. Lord let us see with the eyes of an eagle that we would be able to see the devils attacks long before they come. Lord, I pray for each and every child that may be going out on Halloween, I speak the precious blood of Jesus over each and every child all across the globe, that they would be protected from the wiles of the enemy, that their candy would be safe to eat, and I pray a safe return home for each one in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
