Therefore thus says the LORD: "If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them." Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Watching a video some time ago, this family was having a gathering in their home for an elderly man, who was a father, a husband, a brother, an uncle to all who attended. As everyone was settled in, the video showed a young man dressed in his army uniform come into the kitchen, as everyone continued to talk. What looked to be the elderly man's daughter, asked the man to turn around, and as he did, there stood in front of him was his son, who had came home from his duty from war. The stunned but priceless look on that father's face, tears streaming down his face as hugs were exchanged with mumbled words of love, a priceless sight to behold.
Jonah was heading in the opposite direction to where the Lord was calling him to go, because he did not want to preach to the Ninevites, he thought they did not deserve the mercy of God because they were such wicked people, who did many, many wicked things in the land.
Account after account in the "Old Testament" of the Israelites turning from God to serve dead, false gods.
Saul had been persecuting Christians for many years, travelling on the "Road to Damascus," Saul had become blind for three days.
Moses had fled Egypt and lived out in the desert for forty years, with his wife and her family as he tended sheep.
The account of the prodigal son who left home with all of his inheritance money and squandered it all on partying, gambling and carousing.
In each of these accounts, God had a plan for the ending of these stories. When Saul had an encounter with the Lord, his eyes came open for the first time to see and understand what he had been doing, how he had been living. On the "Road to Damascus," was when Saul turned around to living a new way, following Jesus, in which his named was changed to Paul after this experience, being one of the writers of the new testament. People may be thinking that Saul did not deserve the mercy of God, especially after killing many Christians, but God is the God of second chances.
The Israelites murmured, grumbled and complained over many situations that they thought were justifiable to do so, that when they saw how God had brought them out of hard situations time and time again, they turned from the dead false gods, back to the "One and only true living God."
Moses did not want to go back into Egypt where God was calling him to, but God's people were still there and they needed to be rescued from the cruel hands of Pharaoh.
After spending all of his inheritance, the prodigal son came to his senses and decided he would be better off to turn back and go back to his father's house than live in the "pigs troth" of life. When he returned, his brother did not like the fact that his father was throwing a big party for his brother after what he had done. After all he was the one who had stayed by his father's side, working hard to keep the farm going, the fields tilled. The father saw it as a second chance for his son that had come home, just as God does the same for us when we turn our life back to Him or turn to Him for the very first time.
As Jonah turned around and went back to Nineveh, God used him to preach the word not to condemn the people but to bring them under conviction of all of their wrong doings, giving them a chance to turn to the Lord in repentance, and to turn from their wicked ways in order to get on the right track.
Girlfriends, that is what God has been doing for centuries, he has been using men and women to bring forth the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, to let them know that God is a God of first chances and second chances, it's not too late. There may be people that we do not think deserves a chance to repent to Jesus after all of the wicked and cruel things they may have done, but that is not how God sees it. They are still His children, just like the ones Moses went back for and the ones that Jonah went back to preach to, in order to give them another chance to get their lives right with God.
What the enemy may have done in your life to harm you or for evil, God will turn it around for your good, He will give back to you. I have heard testimony after testimony of how couples have went through a miscarriage, but God turned their situation around by giving back to them another baby, as the couple were giving God all the glory.
It's hard to express how much greater of a life that God will give a person when one turns their life around to the Lord, the love and the joy that one experiences as they get to know Him on a deeper level. Just picture it in your mind how a parent rejoices when their child turns their life over to the Lord, and how the Lord rejoices with you for making the most important decision you will ever make for your life. You will have loved ones in heaven rejoicing for you as well, knowing that they will see you one day in heaven.
There is nothing that a person can ever do, there is no place that is so dark that God will not turn His heart and His ear to you when you call out in repentance to surrender your life to Him. He is the God of many chances, today is your day to make Jesus your heavenly father all you have to do is turn around to HIM!
Let's Pray,
Father God, I praise You father for Your goodness and mercy. Lord I thank You for who You are to me and to many others all around the world. Lord, I lift up that sweet soul to You today that has been wrestling within themselves to call upon the name of Jesus. Lord, I speak over this person today, to tell that person, that Jesus loves you with an everlasting love. a love far greater than you will ever experience here on earth. Today is your day of turning around to experience to most wonderful life that you could ever have, with Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I am so excited to say that no matter what you have done in your past, Jesus will wipe it all away, every part, every memory to be gone. I believe that Your Road to Damascus experience will be one that you will never stop talking about to others because it will have such a lasting affect as you share your experience. I am so proud of you dear sweet soul for turning your life over to the one and only Jesus, and He is rejoicing with you as well, Praise God. I thank You Lord, another one for Your kingdom, in Jesus name, Amen.
Be blessed and pass the blessings on. Thanking you in advance for passing this message on to others.
