But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 ESV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Pictures of my daughters wedding had came up in the memories of my phone from last year, It's so hard to believe that a whole year has passed since the words "I Do" were exchanged. It was a beautiful outside, sunny August afternoon, with a small number in attendance of family and a couple of friends, as well as people who stood on their balconies from a near by apartment building. The bride was dressed in her beautiful white gown as she and her sister who stood up with her, held an arrangement of purple and turquoise hydrangeas to match the flower crown that adorned her head. The groom was dressed in a black suit and purple tie for the matching color, with his curls that extended to almost the length of the brides.
My oldest daughter who stood up with the bride, her father-in-law was chosen to perform the wedding ceremony and what a memorable ceremony it was as they read their own vows to each other that was written straight from the heart, as they stood in front of an old aged barn, and a decorated white rose arbor with vine flowers and lanterns for a backdrop, it truly was a beautiful sight. With the vows exchanged and the marriage papers signed, the minister pronounced them husband and wife as they took their first kiss as a newly married couple for all of their family to be a witness to. What a glorious day it was to receive a new son-in-law into our family as well as the grooms side received a daughter-in-law for their side of the family, it's truly an honor and an exciting day for all with all of the laughter and tears that are shared.
Girlfriends, this is the way it is when a person receives Jesus into their heart for the very first time, this too is a very emotional time as other believers welcome the new believer into the family of God. Accepting Jesus is the most special and important decision one could ever make, and choosing the right partner for life is so much better when God is involved to make sure that person is the right one. Ephesians 2:19 tells us when we have received Jesus Christ as our Savior that we are no longer strangers and aliens, but we are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God. And Ephesians 1:5 let's us know that He, meaning God, predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will.
As beautiful as weddings truly are, we are truly blessed of God because it was He who stated in the beginning Genesis 2:18 "It isn't good for man to be alone; I will make a companion for him, a helper suited to his needs," and that is exactly what He did when He took a rib from Adam and created a woman (Eve) found in Genesis 2:21-22, and that became the very first union between man and woman.
It continues on to say in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (ESV) How true this next scripture is which was written in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NASB), "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls and there is not another to lift him up." Life is easier when you have a companion to help one another, life is not such a stain.
Remembering back quite some years ago, when my two youngest girls knelt at their bedside asking Jesus into their hearts, I have to say what a special moment that was to be right by their side as a witness. I will never forget the evening that my son rededicated his life back to the Lord, right in my living room, what an emotional time that was, it was the last time we were together before my husband had passed, which made it even more memorable for us.
So, let us encourage one another, pray for one another which we are to do, let's help one another when we are able, and let's continue to share the love of Jesus and His gospel to those who do not know Him yet, so that they to will be welcomed into the "Family of God," there's always time for rejoicing as we welcome new believers into the family, Amen?
Let's Pray,
Father God, I praise You Lord, for You are an awesome God and so wonderful to me. Lord I am so blessed and thankful for the day that I said "I Do" to You, when I surrendered my life over to live for the One who gave me life from the beginning. You have shown me how to be loving and kind, as well as gentle and patient with others. Lord, You are the example of "LOVE," and OH to be like You. Lord I lift that sweet soul up to You today that has not said yes to You up to this point, let today be their turning point as they surrender their life to You to say "I DO," and as they feel the warmth of the love of the Father flow over them like they have never felt love before. Let this be a new beginning, a new day for them as they walk forward in faith, living a new life in a new way, with the love of the Father that rests on them and on the inside of them, so that they will shine for You in the Mighty name of Jesus a nd it will draw others to You as well in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Be blessed sweet ones and pass the blessings on to others you meet. Thank you for passing this message on, you will be blessed for doing so.
