What Are We Looking For

"This shall be the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing that He has promised." Isaiah 38:7 ESV

Good Morning Girlfriends:

A friend of mine called me one morning asking me if I wanted to go for a drive with her, on this beautiful sunny day, thinking it was too nice of a day to stay home. I had decided that I would go for the drive to get a change of scenery and fresh air. As we were driving, she was telling me that she wanted something different as a decoration to hang on her wall for a different look.

When we had arrived to our destination, we found that there was a sign on the door with a new address telling us that they had moved. Knowing the area fairly well, we figured that it wouldn't be too hard to find their new location, but boy were we wrong.

When we were close to where we thought the street was, there in front of us was a detour sign that re-routed us through and around different streets, and it wasn't long before we realized we had no idea where we were. Seeing some men outside a house that they were working on, we stopped to ask directions, learning that we were close to where we wanted to be, we were on the lookout for the street sign that would lead us to the new location. Those little green signs were so small, it was hard to read them until we were almost to it, but it wasn't long before we finally found the store that we had been looking for.

Girlfriends, there are things that are changing all around us all the time, as areas grows bigger, families become larger or smaller. Businesses move into new buildings for larger space accommodations, families may have to move into a larger home to accommodate their growing family which causes their address to change. Billboards are erected announcing of a new restaurant or business coming to town or one may be driving through town and see that there is a sign saying the circus is in town.

Every where we go there are signs all around us, there can be a sign when you are looking up into the clouds, there can be a sign on the color of a certain caterpillar, saying how long the winter months will be. We could have prayed a prayer about a certain situation, and one day we could be speaking to somebody and something that they say may be a confirmation to that prayer as a sign. Different things that a person may do or say, can be a sign that they might not be the right person to keep close to you as a friend. We have to have our eyes and ears open at all times to the many signs that are all around us.

God, our Heavenly Father sent us a sign when He sent Jesus, His one and only son to die on the cross for us, and that was the sign of salvation. Salvation is a sign that is for each and every person who wants to receive it. It is a sign that when this world is done, or when we live our last day on this earth, that we will have eternal life if we have excepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Jesus was the sign to follow as He healed people, delivered and set people free of all kinds of spirits, and He is still the same sign today to follow that leads us to that life eternal. John 14:6 says, "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me."

Jesus is the sign that will lead us to our final destination, and this the one destination I know that I surely want to be at when I finish this race called life, Amen?

Let's Pray,

Father God, I praise you and thank you that you are the one and only sign that leads to eternal life and that there are no detours or roadblocks, you will lead us straight to heaven. Lord, I lift up that dear soul to you today that may have taken a detour or have found themselves at a road block in life. Lord I declare over that person right now that their road block will be moved as they look up to You Lord, and accept You as their Lord and Savior. I declare that their life will definitely be re-directed into a better direction than they ever thought possible, and they will be blessed beyond measure in the Mighty name of Jesus, amen.
