What Are You Searching For

Good Morning Girlfriends:

This is the time of year when people are busy shopping for that perfect gift for friends and family, going from store to store, checking out all the wonderful deals that each store offers to attract as many customers as possible. A steady stream of cars are lined up at the drive throughs buying gift certificates for those "hard to buy for people," so not go home empty handed.

The other weekend, i went shopping with my son as we went searching through the mall looking for different items that was on his list, I know we must have tromped up and down those halls a dozen times just searching for the right store that would carry the things he wanted to buy. We slipped into a book store looking for just the right books for certain little ones, as he went one way I went another as my eyes took a second glance on a very familiar book the children used to look at when I was at the daycare, called "Where's Waldo." I remember the children and I looking at page after page searching for this little fellow called Waldo who was carefully hidden amongst so many colorful things on the page. I tried searching for him that night before my son came back to find me, and I could not find Waldo at all, I probably just didn't have enough time to look, that was it.

We searched for a certain doll that one of his girls had asked for, for Christmas, a big fat pillow with the face of a fox, called a "squishy," a certain pair of angel wing earings, body lotions, candles, games for the family to play, winter boots, Christmas sweaters for the family to wear together, we had a fun filled night of shopping and the rest of the rest of the items on his list, he would have to search online, hoping everything would come in time. I love to shop, I usually say "shop til you drop," and that night I think I could have dropped, and thankful I wasn't driving home in the snow that was coming down.

How many times have you heard it come up in a conversation when someone is looking or wondering about something, they say, "just search on google." Theses days people are searching for the latest cell phone, a newer car, what movie is playing in theaters, searching for the latest weather update. A family moves from another city and they are searching for a new home, a new doctor, a school for their children. Journalists are always searching for that story that will make the headline news. We search the phone book for a plumber, a contractor, the dentists' phone number.

People all over the world are searching for love, hope, joy, answers to life's problems, life's purpose, searching for that man or woman to be in their life. Even the wise men were searching for the Saviour as they followed the star. Girlfriends if you are one of these people who is searching for love, joy, peace, certainty, I would have to say to you, your search is over, search no more, you can find everything you are looking for right here and it's called the Bible. Everything is right in God's word to all of life's questions from how to raise your children, to how to have a happy marriage, to being healed, delivered and set free of addictions of smoking, alcohol, or substance. Jesus is who you have been searching for all of this time and He is as close to you as the mention of His name (Psalm 145:18).

Let this be your season where your search is over, call upon the name of Jesus to help you with what ever it is you are in need of, and if you have been searching for salvation, He is here to help you with that as well, Jesus is everything you will ever need and you will not need to search any longer. Jesus new where you were the whole time, He has been waiting for you to find Him.

Let's Pray,

Precious Jesus, there is no one like you, there is no other name to call upon but Jesus. Lord I lift up each one today that has been searching for answers to their life's purpose, Lord let them know that You have a plan for each of their lives and their life does have meaning and purpose. Lord I lift up those who are in the need of a deliverer, I ask that you would meet them wherever they are sitting right now to meet that need in the mighty name of Jesus. Lord for the ones that are in need of a Saviour, I pray they would call upon the name of Jesus and believe that they are saved as they ask You to come into their heart and take over their life. For the ones who have been searching for a partner, Lord You send them in because You already have someone picked for them, because You have heard their hearts cry. Lord fill each of us with more of Your love, peace and joy, for we already know that our hope is in You. Lord let this be the most special season for many, knowing that their search is over in the Mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
