For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. for God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:16-17 NIV
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Today is the holiday "Remembrance Day," that we reflect back on the many men and women who gave their lives in service, as they fought for our countries freedom. As we pass on from generation to generation, everything that these precious men and women did as they sacrificed their own lives, even though we may not know their names, they will not be forgotten. Some being as young as eighteen years old, adding their names to the list to be drafted to go to war, I am sure was no easy decision, to leave all of their family and loved ones behind, not knowing if they would ever see them again.
Some keeping journals, as they wrote what they had seen that day, who had just lost their life as they watched some of their best friends die. Letters were written to be sent home to stay in touch with family, letting them know that they were still alive to see another day. Fighting through all kinds of nasty weather, days they wondered if they would even survive the cold, or live to see the sun beaming down on their face. Remembering their families with all the good home cooking, I'm sure they missed, the smell of coffee brewing, cookies from the oven and listening to music on the old radio. How they must have longed for the warmth and comfort of their own beds and a warm hug to hold them at night.
The many soldiers who never lived to tell their stories, and the ones who did, as they arrived home after the war was over, only to relive everything they had seen, over and over in their minds for years to come. How we owe each one of them our lives and gratitude, and let's not to forget to mention "respect," as they willing put their lives on the line for you and me, we will be forever grateful and we will never forget.
WE SHALL KEEP THE FAITH
Oh! You who sleep in Flanders Fields
Sleep sweet - to arise anew!
We caught the torch you threw
And holding high, we keep the Faith
With all who died.
We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.
THERE STANDS A SOLDIER
There stands a Soldier,
Tall, proud and still
Guarding and protecting,
The rights of all who will...
All who will remember,
All who lives so free
In this great country, Canada
Home for you and me.
Girlfriends, as I reflect on this memorial of Remembrance Day, grateful for every sacrifice that was made by the men and women who fought for you and for me, I would also like to take a moment to say thank you to the Father who sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for us, so that we too could go free. Jesus laid down His life, the one and only spotless one who knew no sin, but took on our sins so that we could go free, so we can live free spiritually. We can live in freedom from sins such as abuse, addictions, betrayal, jealousy, resentment, unforgiveness, depression, anger, fear.
For those of you who has already surrendered your life to Christ, can you remember the day that it took place, can you remember how you felt when you asked Jesus to come into your heart and take over your life. I'm sure each and every one of you have a story to tell, we all do. Jesus paid a great price for you and for me, and that is certainly something worth sharing with others, every time that you get a chance. Let others know what the Lord has done for you and how He has worked in your life, to change you into a better you. Share your stories of how the Lord has brought you through the battles, the storms and trials that you never thought you would see the other side of it. Share with others how His precious love invaded your soul when your surrendered your life to Him and how you have never been the same since that wonderful day.
So, as we take a moment of silence remembering all of the wonderful men and women who laid down their lives for our freedom, let us today as well take a moment to reflect back on all that Jesus Christ has done for us and is still doing in each of our lives. We certainly could not do life without Him, our wonderful and precious Savior, Jesus Christ, and for those of you who have not surrendered your life to Him yet, today is your day, it will be the best day of your life I can promise you that and it's all for His glory, Amen.
Let's Pray,
Precious Jesus, I honor you today Lord. I give you glory, honor and praise, as I lift up your precious and holy name. Lord, let us never forget what you did for us on the cross at Calvary. Let us never forget that you shed your precious blood on the cross for each and every life, so that we could be free, free of sickness and disease, free of loneliness, and pain. Lord, let each of us share the gospel story, and your love of how you died so that none would be lost. Lord us always remember that one day every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Lord may we always remember just how much you really love us and one day you are coming back for us so that we will live forever, and I thank you in Jesus Mighty name, Amen.
Be blessed sweet girlfriends, and pass the blessings on. thank you for passing this message on.
