God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God's many kinds of blessings. 1 Peter 4:10 The Living Bible
Good Morning Girlfriends:
Every Sunday morning that my mother did not have to work, she would get my sister and I ready to go to Sunday school and church, as our dad would stay home and watch the Minister on the television. Off my mom, my sister and I would go to join in with the singing about Jesus, then the children would be dismissed to go to Sunday school as the teacher would read little Bible stories about Jesus and how He healed the sick and made blind people see, and made lame people walk.
For many years I had always wondered why my dad did not want to go to church with us, and one day I asked him, being curious and wanting an explanation, he told me. He softly explained that he didn't want to get caught up in all the stuff that goes on in church, he was very content on listening to the Preacher on the television and in those days it was usually Rex Humbard, Billie Graham or Ronnie Libbey Sr., he explained that he was receiving God's message right in the living room. Was he wrong, I suppose not, it does say in Hebrews 1:14 "For the angels are only spirit messengers sent out to help and care for those who are to receive His salvation," my dad was being ministered to and he did receive Jesus in his heart right at home.
A couple of my friends and I were talking about this very subject about ministers, most of us think about a man dressed in a suit standing behind a pulpit, or a woman, but that is not always the case. Yes they are ministers ministering the gospel, but there are also others kinds of "Ministers" and "Ministries," so let's take a look at a few examples. There are "Ministering Angels" found in Daniel 6:22, where God had sent an angel to shut the mouth of the lion so it would not harm Daniel. Psalm 103:20 tells us that God has an army of angels that wait for God to direct them where to go and to what command or order they will carry out. Acts 12:7-11 tells us how an angel literally walked Peter out of the jail so that he would not be harmed by King Herod.
There are men and women who minister in song, whether they sing in a church, or going to the "Manors", or how some people call them "The Old Folks Home" to visit with the elderly as they minister to them by music. There are the people, usually women, who minister to the children in the Sunday school classes, and those whose ministry is in the nursery at church. There are also those men and women who are out in the streets "Evangelizing" the gospel of Jesus as they share His love and what great things He has done and is still doing today.
Girlfriends, there are all different kinds of ministry out there, maybe you always wondered what your ministry is or what you could do. Over in 1 Peter 4:10-11 it continues to say in verse 11, "Are you called to preach? Then preach as though God Himself were speaking through you. Are you called to help others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies, so that God will be glorified through Jesus Christ-to Him be the glory and power forever and ever, Amen."
Think about it girlfriends, what are you good at, what do you love to do, what comes easy to you? 1 Peter 4:10 reminds us that God has given each and every one of us special "gifts" and "abilities," and we are to pass them on to other's, so think about what your gifts are. Maybe you are that one who loves to give hugs when you know someone could use one, maybe you have the gift to be a good listener. You could be that one who has the beautiful gift to style hair, create beautiful designs on fingernails, or the one who loves to make women look good and feel good about themselves being the make-up artist that you are, you could be an artist with pastels, paint and an easel.
Your ministry could be working in the schools or a daycare with children, working with special needs children ministering to their needs that only you can do in a special way. Are you that one who loves to bake and love to share your goodies with friends, neighbors and family. I remember when a new neighbor moved into the neighborhood, some kind of casserole, or baked goodies were taken to them to welcome them to the neighborhood. If you are a nurse or a doctor, you are very much needed as you are ministering to the hurting, the sick, the broken and isn't that what Jesus did, He ministered to all those kinds of people and He still does today, healing the broken hearted, binding up their wounds.
The other day I had made a little joke saying that my home was a laundry service and daycare as I have helped friends and family when they have been in need, as well as my home is known to be called "A Safe Place," as I have helped some people in their time of need and that is something that I love being able to do. Just maybe you are a person who does what I am doing right now, ministering to women all around the world with these messages, whatever you are gifted with, God will bless your hands (Deut. 28:12) as you do it for the kingdom and for His glory, why, because we are doing it for the good of helping others and that is what we are called to do.
Whatever your gifts are, use them for the good of others, that's what it's all about, is helping others, and no matter where you are or what your special gifts are, we can always say a little prayer for the people that we are in contact with each day, and maybe that is your special gift, praying for people. No matter what it is, we are to do it to the best of our ability and for the glory of God, so that one day we will hear Him say to us, "Well done my good and faithful servant," (Matt. 25:21) Amen?
Let's Pray,
Father God, I praise You today and I thank You for all of the wonderful gifts that You have given to us. Lord, I thank You that we are all individually and uniquely made by You with our very own gifts that You have downloaded into us. Lord, I pray that each of us will use these gifts to the fullest so that Your name will be high and lifted up and that You would be glorified. Lord, I just remembered that sweet one who loves to decorate, may You bless her hands as well as You use her to bring out beauty in whatever she endeavors in the Mighty name of Jesus. Use each one of us to bring more sweet souls to the kingdom in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Be blessed sweet ones and pass on the blessings everywhere you go. Thank you for passing this message on to people you know, so that the gospel keeps moving.
